Halloween Special Edition

Horse-miracles 4#-Halloween Special Edition

A new rider enrolls Willow Hall Stables and her name is Sapphire ???. The strange thing is, she doesn't have a surname! Her mother is a Sri Lankan Doctor and her father works by the seven seas. Her horse, is even stranger. First thing is, her beloved Arabian grey horse, Aquamarine is very strange. At sleepover barn nights and at midnight, Sapphire and Aquamarine are always out missing but return in the morning. Angie and June think that this is very strange, so one night on Friday the 13th, Angie and June set out to follow Sapphire and Aquamarine…wherever they go, and Sapphire is going somewhere dangerous that no mortal could go through.

"Did you bring the pumpkin cookies?" asked June mischievously. Angie rolled her eyes and placed a platter of pumpkin-shaped cookies near the fire. It was Halloween and Willow Hall Stables are having an All Hallows Eve Night Share and of course, a sleepover at the barn. Angie pushed back her blonde hair in a ponytail and waited for Mrs. Harrington and the other students to settle down. All the students and stable hands sat in a circle around a camp fire. Mrs. Harrington looked around to see if everyone was paying attention. "This is a special day for All Hallows. So, if you are going to be silly, I'd rather cancel this special day and we will all go home," Mrs. Harrington warned everyone. Everyone nodded, despite in Mrs. Harrington's bad mood. Angie however, was almost the worst rider in the riding school and was used to getting into trouble. Angie sat next to June and waited for Mike, the stable manager to speak.

Sapphire had long brunette color hair all out, and wavy. She was wearing unusual clothes for a riding school. (Despite the fact she rides side-saddle.) A natural-looking white dress with no sleeves or shoulder sleeves. It was just upon her chest. Sapphire knew what the other riders were thinking: Her dress looked like someone who lives in the trees. She sat next to two girls: One named June that she had found incredibly friendly and another called Stevie; who were just as annoying. Mike lowered his voice and said, "Mrs. Harrington is going to keep watch of you guys since it is nearly dark. I want someone to tell a ghost story." Mike said, smiling and he went over to the barn to check out on the horses. Sapphire hoped he wouldn't check on her beloved mare, Aquamarine. The secret was that Aquamarine was secretly a flying fairy horse, like a unicorn but with no horn. Sapphire didn't want to anyone to find out. And I don't belong here, she thought glumly as people began to yell out who'll tell a scary story. I live in a forest with only nature to accompany me. She continued thinking. Then, she looked at the watch on the barn door. It was 8:30pm at night. At midnight, she'll have to take Aquamarine on a flying night ride back to the rainforests, where'd she'd belong. Where her mother and father was. Where her beloved pet cat, Earn was. Where her pet dog, See-Saw was. And where Aquamarine belonged, too. For the rest of the ghost-telling tales, Sapphire wasn't really listening. She was keeping watch of time. She hoped it wasn't midnight and Aquamarine will already turn to a fairy horse!

Angie and June leaned closely to Isabella as she told her story. "One night a girl named Harris was in the barn grooming her horse, Dixie. But she didn't know that there was a blood-sucking vampire was in with her, too. As she took a step up to the hayloft BOOM! The vampire appeared infront of her, making Harris scream to death. The vampire wore a black up-to-legs dress, red lipstick and the vampire's hair was the deepest, scariest blonde you will ever see. The vampires flowing hair started flowing. Harris screamed and screamed for help but it was late at night and the stable hands and the managers and the teachers and everyone else had gone home to sleep. The vampire started to pounce on Harris, almost clawing the vampire's sharp, red nails into her. Harris screamed for help but again, no one would hear her. So, the vampire bit Harris so Harris also became a vampire. A dead one. That was the end." Isabella finished her story and grinned. Most people looked scared and kept glancing over to the hayloft. Unlike Angie and June, thought this was a silly story. Before the next scary story came along, Angie whispered to June, "Hey, look at Sapphire. You know she doesn't have a surname? Isn't that weird?". June starred at Sapphire, with her white dress with no sleeves at all, and no shoes, even. June nodded. "And her horse, Aquamarine. Something's about her horse," June whispered back. Angie gulped when Sapphire noticed June and Angie looking at her.

Sapphire looked away sharply when she saw them two girls looking at her. She kept her head down and she was blushing furiously. "Alright, that's enough ghost stories! Let's get you children tucked into bed and tomorrow I'll arrange some classes with your parents when they come to pick you up!" cried Mrs. Harrington, looking stern as usual. Sapphire strolled over to her sleeping bag, which was in the barn. She couldn't believe herself. She was grinning furiously. No one had asked her about her clothes! It was amazing. She went to check on her horse, Aquamarine. "Hey girl," said Sapphire gently. "I'll wait until everyone gets to bed and we'll go out," Sapphire whispered this time so no one would hear her but she was wrong. Angie and June were eavesdropping at Sapphire and they couldn't understand why Sapphire said that.

"Sapphire is up to something," said June when they were in their sleeping bags. "I can feel it and it's something that's… I don't know. But I think magical," Angie shrugs and said, "Alright, you know we're the only pair that hasn't turned off our lights so turn it off so then Sapphire goes somewhere and we'll follow," Angie whispers back. So, they turned off their lights as quickly as possible.

Sapphire heard one of the last lights turned off and she slowly got out of her sleeping bag. She used her eyes to see through the dark. Then, she found Aquamarine's stall. Aquamarine was in there, ready to be turned into a fairy horse. But Sapphire couldn't wait any longer. It was one more hour till it was midnight. She slowly, ever so slowly starred deeply but gently into Aquamarine's black coal eyes and whispered the magical words:

'The time has come, the time has come

Where you will be done

Turn Aqua into something special and I will give the light

May Aqua be a fairy horse tonight!'

Soon, purple sparkles swirl around Aquamarine and Sapphire covers her eyes. When she opens them, Aquamarine is a fairy horse! But she didn't know that Angie and June are watching her and are going to follow her. "Omigod," breathed June as she saw that. "Omigod. Could you believe that Angie?" she hissed. Angie's mouth was open, surprised. "I've read about fairy horses in fact books. They turn into that at midnight unless the owner says this phrase or something. No wonder why Sapphire is weird and dresses like a rainforest person; she lives in the rainforest!" hisses Angie back. Sapphire climbs on Aquamarines back, no saddle, no bridle, no girth, nothing. The fairy horse had a pair of beautiful sparkly wings and Everytime it moved, pink sparks will come out of its tail. Angie had never seen anything wonderful. Sapphire and Aquamarine glided into the night sky, leaving Angie and June soon tacking up their own horses. Angie mounted on Caspar and June mounted on Ginny. They weren't allowed to go riding but June really wanted to look. So, they galloped off, catching up to Sapphire and Aquamarine.

Sapphire felt free and light as she and Aquamarine glided through the night sky, with a billion of stars next to them. She wanted to go back to her rainforest. There, was home. Her home with a family. With a beautiful waterfall and Everytime it's night at the stables, its day at the rainforest. When she finally reached the rainforest, Sapphire dismounted off and smelt fresh waterfall air.

Angie and June catched up and dismounted as well. They had to stay as quietly as possible. "I can't believe it, its day here!" shrieked June. Angie gasped as June said that. Now they were in trouble. Sapphire heard and spun around, looking shocked. "You followed me?" she asked. Angie nodded leaving June standing there, looking how beautiful the Paradise was. A waterfall with water clashing on rocks, trees filled with fruit and nature. Sapphire sighed and said to Angie and June. "I guess it's alright. I guess you know my secret now and Aquamarine's. He is a fairy horse. Aren't you, boy?" Sapphire patted Aquamarine on the forehead. Sapphire glanced at the waterfall then glanced at Angie and June. "Would you like to take a swim with this waterfall?" she asked, grinning. "Thanks!" June yelled and followed Angie and Sapphire up the rock stone stairs. "Let's jump at the waterfall," suggested June, feeling excited. Angie however, was not so sure. "Mm…I hope Mrs. Harrington wouldn't find out…" Angie fretted. Sapphire shook her head and said whenever it was past midnight, Aquamarine will turn into a normal horse again. They all jumped into the water. Angie felt fantastic! It was cool and fresh in the water with much more water clashing down from the water fall. "Hey, look at me! Look at me! I'm taking a cold shower!" laughed June, standing near the waterfall in the lake water, pretending to me washing her hair. Angie gritted her teeth happily. Her blonde hair was wet and her green eyes were sore from placing her head in the water. But Sapphire, wasn't as pleased. "Get out of there!" she yelled. "Gran will kill me! That's not safe to go in a waterfall that's falling. You could get killed, you know but most likely you will get very sick into a curse!" June rolled her eyes and all three of them got out of the water and decided to swing on the vines of the trees.

"Ah, snake!" shrieked June as a python was resting on a branch. Sapphire laughed. "Don't worry, that snake is harmless! He's a watcher, obviously!" They were all happily playing and playing but when it was time, they all went back into the stables.
