The International Newz

Stephanie Strikes Again

"I'm quitting riding-I'm going to be out of the saddle and I don't care"

By Kat Christine Wang

Non-awarding winning Stephanie Mosca has completely quitted riding. "Everything's gone so bizarre" said Miss. Mosca. "After a really bad fall at the Grand Pixel, I quitted riding but it wasn't just that" said added. Kitty Wante, awarding-winning National Champion has been strictly competing against Miss. Mosca.

"I just don't think she has enough talent in riding" Miss. Kitty was reported. "Stephanie and I have been great rivals and to be honest, even enemies so I think quitting pony club and riding is a great thing for me," the two young riders were said to be great rivals, especially for cross-country riding and showjumping. But they entered to be great rivals. Stephanie had a total of a hundred and two faults in the showjumping course and Kitty had only sixteen faults, which leaded to a gold medal. In cross-country, is where Miss. Mosca had a great fall in a water jump. Her horse, Jacques had leaded to the hard of competing the water jump. Some people said that she got 'frustrated' and kicked Jacques very hard in the ribs! So really, the fall lead to more than two-hundred faults. Kitty took the jump seriously and leaped through it with her beautiful Arabian horse, Wilma, leading it to only five single faults. This is a brilliant photo of Wilma, gazing in a paddock. Kitty said that she had never been so 'happy' because this is her sixth time of winning the championship's gold medal. But Stephanie was temporarily mad and left the arena.

Kitty will be performing a dressage competition next month, competing with another rival of hers, Tom Flinch. We wish Miss. Kitty Wante the very best of luck in the most challenging dressage test. "I am pretty nervous," says Kitty Wante.

"But we are also wishing to continue Stephanie and Kitty's training if things go as we plan," Brook, Kitty and Stephanie's pony club instructor said. The two young riders are having a big rest for a month, or for Kitty that is-Stephanie we still don't know if she is continuing.

LIFE IS WHATEVER, FELLOWS PART ONE

Life is Whatever, Fellows

By Kat Christine Wang

Dmitry finds herself looking forward to seventh grade when summer holidays are over. But that's when the big issues start- her best friend Holly is hanging out with the popular people, leaving Dmitry wandering around on her own in seventh grade. With bullies, mean teachers, suck-up boys and a ditching-best friend could Dmitry survive through seventh grade? Or will life haunt her forever?

Chapter 1

"C'mon, Dmitry! You're going to be late for the bus!" Mom called out from downstairs. I pull my fair hair back into a ponytail but then found out that my ears were sticking out. I sighed and pulled off the hairband and let the hair fall to my shoulders. It looked pretty, that way but I remembered what happened last year when I first started middle school. The thing that happened was still fresh in my mind. My hair was all out but when we did our cheerleading for Physics Ed, we had to launch cartwheels and when I was upside down, ready to do the cartwheel back, my hands caught on my hair and I tripped over and I dad had to pick me up early from school to the hospital because then, my hand was broken and in a cast. I sighed and just let my blond hair all out. "Coming!" I yelled. "I quickly unlocked the bathroom door and picked up my school bag in a hurry then scattered downstairs. "You're lucky you had gotten down right on time," said mom, opening the door to let me out. "Thanks mom," I said in a hurry. Tell ya who's lucky? My little brother, Jordan. It's his first day of school, too but he's in second grade so they start school at eight and me? Well, I'm starting seventh grade and I have to wake up at seven thirty. I scatter out the door and wave to mom. Jordon opened his mouth (!) while eating his toast. I sniggered to him in disgust. "Mom, tell him to stop!" I called out to her when I left. Thank goodness to my best friend I've known since kindergarten, Holly. She was waiting for me on the bus. "Hey, Holly," I said waving. She gave me a board smile and we packed up to the bus and found that they were no more seats. "Oh God," Holly whispered. I froze and looked around. There were heaps of people from our school, bagging the best seats on the bus. Okay, all the seats on the bus. "Where are we supposed to sit?" whispered Holly and flipped her brunette hair back. My eyes drag towards everyone who is sitting on a seat. The bus engine started to go and the bus was taking off. "Find some seats, loser!" a girly girl voice from the back of the bus called. It was Laura Moribeeto, queen of the mean, rude and obnoxious. She was sitting with her best friends, Natalie-blonde, tanned healthy and naturally good dancer and Ciara Vozzo, has glasses, Italian, good dancer, tanned. The three queens of means were all good dancers. Natalie smirked. Holly and I backed up and found some seats at the back of the three queens of means. They all turned around and sniggered. "You looking forward to seventh grade? We bet not, especially you, Dmitry Lovate and I swear, if you get in my way ever again, I will bash you up just like I did at the start of middle school and second grade," Lara said proudly, turning her head to the front of us, whipping her dangerous dark hair in Holly and I's eyes. Natalie giggled and nudged Lara, so did Ciara. "Last year," breathed Holly. "That one was…" but she didn't get to finish her sentence. "We're here-all off board!" the driver called out.

Chapter 2

Well, let me just say something; Lanchester Field's High School may the most stupidest high school in our country. I stick to Holly, hoping toilet paper celebrations won't go whipping around like last year. We finally found our lockers and the teachers gave us a map of our classes. "Where is Class Two E?" asked Holly, eyeing around the school rodents suspiciously. "I have no idea. I'm in Class Three A with Mrs. Daniels for first period in English," I sighed. The first day without Holly? I needed to be ready to make new friends. Or, Lara will soon be right-I'll be a loner and a loser for the rest of middle school. The bell suddenly rang and we both blinked at eachother. "Well, I'll see you later," Holly stammered nervously. I smiled thinly and gave a little wave before both of us roamed to separate directions.

"Good morning class, welcome to your second year of middle school. I am Mrs. Daniels and I'll be your English teacher. Please choose your seats," Mrs. Daniels demanded. I looked around. Natalie was in my class, but she looked dopey and moody that Lara and Ciara weren't there. There was a spot next to a boy named Ach and there was a spot next to Natalie. There were probably only the two options. I really had no choice-so I flopped myself down on the table next to Ach. I grumbled as I got my textbooks out. Ach looked across from me and grinned this cute smile but all I could do was grumble and try to smile and pretend to play with the paper of my textbooks. I could not believe it. My first class without Holly. This is the worst year from middle school. The WORST. Last year, at least me and Holly were in the same class for every class except for Algebra and Maths. I was dying for the bell to ring. Eventually, it was only an hour lesson but it felt like a million years before the bell rang. When it finally did.

I looked around to found Holly. And there she was! Her brunette hair was now all different! In the morning it was tied back in a side-ways ponytail but now it was all fluffed and…moussed. I pushed past through a tight crowd to get to her. "Hey, Holly!" I greeted as we walked to a quiet not-so-crowdie corner. "Uh—hey…" she said. She looked bored. And I could smell something like perfume. "Are you wearing perfume? And what happened to your hair?" I asked. "Mm…?" she said boredly, like she was looking for someone. She edged her chin to the right and waved frantically to someone. I spun around. Omigod, I thought. She was waving to Lara, aka the queen of mean! Lara waved back, with Natalie and Ciara. Holly looked really excited and scattered towards them. I just stayed in the corner of the hall-mouth hanging open. I saw Ach with his best friend Rotoe. They came around the corner but Ach stopped and stared at me. My mouth was still hanging open like a geek. "Your mouth's hanging open," he assured me. And I closed it with a snap.

Holly hanging out with Lara? Holly hanging out with Lara? I walk to the cafeteria, depressed. The cafeteria… I obviously didn't know where to sit. But then, I couldn't believe my eyes! Holly was sitting with Lara, Natalie and Ciara! On a table! I probably will never trust Holly ever again!

Chapter 4

I obviously had nowhere to sit in the cafeteria, so I ended up sitting on a toilet seat, eating. But I didn't really eat anything. So I ended up throwing the food in the bins. But I still feel dead depressed. At second period, I went to Holly's locker, where she was cheerfully placing her pencils and stuff in her locker. "Hey," I said. Holly didn't even look up. She was humming some pathetic song that the queen of mean will like. "Holly?" I asked for the hundredth time. "Huh?" was all she had said and she still didn't look up. I took a deep breath and said, "Are we still friends?" I asked. Now this time she looked up, she had tears in her eyes. "Don't you think people can change?" she asked tearfully. I shrugged. "Yeah, I guess,"

"Cuz Lara's pretty nice," she added. Then, she glanced up at me and left.

The stress of making a gang a gang

The Stress of Making the Gang…a gang…

By Kat Christine Wang

Hiya! My name is Quinn Tanner and you won't believe what I've been through during the past nine weeks in school days-it was unbelievable! I'm going to tell you all about, worth taking out the stress…phew! I'm just glad it's all over. All the stress, the cringes…so just scoot your chair over here and I'll tell you what happened…from the beginning.

Chapter 1

Omigod!that is so lunatic!

That was officially it-I couldn't take any more of this stupid boy talk- I needed to escape-but there was no escape found anywhere. So I thought of something fast-"Hey, who wants to come to the movies with me and my mom to watch Omigod!that is so lunatic!movie?" I flashed quickly. My best friend Withers frowned at me. She was in the middle of discussing about, 'oh, I'm going to handsome Zach Gorsions party!' when I barged in. Henna and Xenia were pretty mad, too. My mom said that me, Withers, Henna and Xenia looked exactly like sisters-which was impossible because I have straight, long fair hair and light green eyes and olive skin, Withers has straight brown hair, little, tiny freckles along her nose and flashing dark plant green eyes and her skin is nicely tanned and not a single bit hairy. Henna has curly red hair, blue eyes, pale skin and orange freckles along her nose, too like Withers and Xenia has pretty dark hair (cooper, you could say), brown eyes and her nails are always painted blue. Xenia said something first: "That's not fair!" she yelled. "I wanted to hear all about Withers being invited to gorgeous Zach Gorsion's party!" I flinched. It was lunch break for an hour until our next class but I wish it was ten minutes. I'm not interested in boys-or clothes-or makeup or any of that stuff. They make me sick. I shrugged and grumbled, "Whatever," So, I spent like fifty five minutes chewing my sandwich and listening to this boring boy talk. "And, like, when he asked me out to his party-remember girls; not just a party but a private party! He was so hot! His dark hair…and his dazzling blue eyes…" Withers rattled on and on and on… I check my pockets for money. "And I was like, yes! Of course, only the best people get invited to Zach's party and he said I can bring a friend that I know along…" I took two dollars from my pocket-ace! I could escape from this boy talk, no offence to Withers, Xenia and Henna. But of course I didn't realize that Wither's dark alien-colored eyes were looking enviously across me. We were sitting under a big oak tree. There was awkward silence as Wither's stared at me. Finally, I looked up and spoke. "I'm going to the tuck shop," I said helpfully. "Anyone like to come along?" I added. Henna came with me. I could feel something was terribly wrong…the way Wither's acted when she said, 'I can bring a friend along'. Obviously, I had to listen then. When I and Henna walked to the tuck shop, I asked Henna, "Is Wither's mad at me?" Henna looked across the lawn, where Xenia and Withers were talking. Wither's looked…jealous? Then she sighed. "I'm gonna tell you a secret, but you have to promise not to tell anyone-not even Xenia; Wither's especially," she said. My eyes widened when I stepped on the queue. "Promise I won't breathe a word," I whispered to Henna. Henna took a deep breath while I walked backwards, trying to keep in time in the line. "It's just that-" she didn't get to finish her sentence because as I walked backwards, I bumped into someone. I spun around to see who it was. Oh yes, Mr. Charming himself-Zachary Gorsions, or you could say Wither's dreamboat. "Sorry!" I apologized. Zach took a glance at me. (You remember how Wither's said he was 'hot'? Well, I have to admit he is except that I don't fancy him or whatever like most of the girls does in my grade.) Zach has this dark brown hair and cute blue eyes, at least I think it's blue cuz I never go close to him or anything like the other girls do (P.S-They flirt) "It's OK," he smiled this really cute smile that any girls could die for. But I also have to admit-me too; except I told you that I don't fancy him. Then he asked, "What are you buying?" I'm like, Omigod! He's permanently smiling at me!!!!! But I didn't smile back. "I'm getting rainbow stripes, I guess." Suddenly, for a spilt second, I felt mean-he was being nice and stuff and I was being ruthless so I added a tiny smile to it. I glance over to Henna, who was looking surprise and angry. Of course! Henna liked Zach as well! Almost all the girls like Zach in my class-all, I have to admit; except for me. "Hi Zach, will you marry me when you get older?" this redheaded girl called Emily who was totally covered in freckles, even if she was lining up at the back of line zoomed to Zach to flirt. But I could see Zach was trying his best not to tell Emily out of it. He didn't say anything for a while until the canteen lady asked him what he wanted. Emily pouted but still didn't line up in the queue-she was waiting for Zach, fluttering her eyelashes and grinning sweetly. When Zach got whatever he wanted, some other girls must've saw him looking at me or Emily, so they scurried to him, asking stupid questions like, 'Will you marry me when I get older?' or 'I wish I were married to you!' or even, 'you look so hot and cute!' I got my stuff from the canteen in no time but I looked around for Henna but she was gone. If the girls are asking him to marry them, they must be insane. But if Zach says yes to one of them; they've got ready of what's going to happen in the next eight or seven years. Or, if the girls can't wait, they'll probably get married next year-which I at least think, is against the rules.

Chapter 2

Gourmand cheese sandwiches and lovely heavy cream drinks?!

Our teacher, Mrs. Fountain is as scary as a lion. Her hair is totally black, her face is deadly pale like someone's got killed and her eyebrows are either spray painted or painted white and she pounces everywhere she goes. She demands quietness is every lesson. It was time for maths after lunch and Mrs. Fountain was handing out a math assessment. I hate math-it's so boring but it's alright the work I mean. I was sitting next to Withers, who is obviously avoiding me for some reason and across from me is Xenia, who is glaring at me and Henna to Wither's across, who is glowering at me. Sometimes, I just don't get friends. What did I do wrong? I look at the maths assessment. Long algebra sucks. I'd rather spend a week getting rolled into a tight ball and coated all in someone's saliva, being drained all day than do long algebra. I concentrate on the first question when: "EMILY DUGONG, GET BACK IN YOUR SEAT NOW AND I WANT YOU TO DO THIS TEST OR YOU ARE GOING TO GET ZERO! YOU HAVE NO REASON TO BE NEAR ZACHARY'S DESK!" roared Mrs. Fountain, which I suspect, I lost my answer to the first question. "See what I mean?" I muttered under my breath to Withers. "This is why people can't get any work done!" but that didn't stop Emily from drooling to Zach's desk. After like ten minutes from the test time, Emily and Xenia and Henna and Diane Chup and Nickey Chi and Casey Smithers all crawled to Zach's desk. When Wither's saw, she glanced at Mrs. Fountain, who was marking some books and crawled over to Zach, too. Some of the girls placed roses or fake rings or love notes on Zach's desk. Zach's too nice to make them go away so he just thanked them quietly and soon, I'm pretty sure all of the girls in the class were silently crawling back and forth to him, during a math test, bringing love stuff until Peter Catchman, who was Zach's best mate, caught them out. "Mrs. Fountain! The girls are all near Zach's desk!" dobbed Peter. I'm not going to even describe what Mrs. Fountain did but all I can say is, there was lots of yelling and chalk-throwing going on around the girls.

By the time it was recess break, I caught up with Withers, Xenia and Henna. They looked pretty depressed because Mrs. Fountain did some telling off on them, big time. "Hey guys!" I waved to them. But as Withers just pushed past me angrily. I cringed and looked towards my other friends. Xenia looked furious along with Henna, too. They both looked like they were going to kill me. I walked after them to the tree we always play under at. "Hey, what's wrong?" I cried after them. Xenia grumbled and said something that whacked my brain. "You know why Withers aren't hanging around with us? Its cuz Zach fancies you," Xenia kept huffing when she had said that. I gasped. No way! I felt like screaming out my Zach and his mates were playing basketball on the courts, which was near the lawn, so he could've heard me. I stared at them, mouth hanging open. "No way, you are joking. This is a practical joke from you, there is no way…" I stopped talking once I realized I was blabbering. Xenia looked like she was about to explode and Henna looked upset. And really, I thought this was stupid, being angry because the person you fancy likes someone else. I closed my mouth with a snap. Xenia talked first. "Yeah, and it's kinda depressing and sad at the same time cuz you never even liked him-You obviously hated him," said Xenia. I sighed. "Well, that's not my fault, isn't it? It's totally not my fault cuz I'd never hypnotized Zach or something to make him fancy me," I pointed out. Henna sniggered sadly and snorted. "Yeah, like when I went with you to the tuck shop, you totally ignored me and went talking with your dream guy, didn't you?" sniggered Henna. I gaped at her. But before I could say anything, Xenia butted in. "Yeah, you fibbed all this time about not fancying Zach, didn't you?" said Xenia. I snorted. "As if!" I snorted. But I was kinda glad that Withers weren't here for our row-she would've made it worse, no offence to her. "I'd really never fancied him-you guys did! And even if he did like me, I wouldn't have accepted it, thank you very much!" I yelled at them. Henna was looking really upset. See what a mean? Girls are totally obsessed with Zach.

Chapter 3

The big Row of my Life

Obviously, since our big row, Xenia and Henna and Withers aren't speaking to me, which was fine. Totally fine. Cuz if I ever had the biggest row in my life-it's this one. And if they ever speak to me again, I'll make sure that I keep my mouth shut. When I got home, mum was overworking and dad was still at the office and my big sister, Claire was over at her friend's house. The whole house was quiet and a bit dark because it rained and the sky was getting darker, filling with clouds. The house was quiet, too. I wished we had a dog or a cat or something in the house. But mom said it was because of most of our family members were out during the day and it wouldn't be fair to the dog. I just hoped Claire would come home. She was really late, the idiot inoffensively. I sighed and switched on the toaster. I was going to make some really warm cheese grilled sandwiches. I popped to bread slices and switched on the plug, which reminded me about Xenia, Henna and Withers and me row. It was completely horrid. But one part of me is thinking that this is all Withers fault. After all, she was the one who had told Xenia and Henna that she was mad of me because Zach just fancies me. But really, I just couldn't blame myself. Suddenly, I heard the front door unlock-it has to be Claire; or mom; or dad. But then, it turns out it was mom. Mom came in through the door. "Hello, Quinn," she greeted. I didn't say anything obviously. "I've had a bad day," I moaned. Mom turned on the main lights and snickered. "With who? Trouble at school?" she asked. "No!" I said rushly. And it was true. A bit. I just didn't want her to find out the stuff about Zach and the row and that kind of stuff. "It's just that Withers are kinda avoiding me, Xenia and Henna," I said. It was true. Mom started chopping radish. Radish makes me a bit sick, too be honest. The last time I smelt radish, I practically fainted. I tried to say that to mom without looking at the radish. "Don't worry, there's plenty more fish in sea," she said. "I'm going to do homework," I said quickly before she says another one of her 'helpful' proverbs, like, 'The world's not going to end' or 'The birds will still fly high' or something like that.

I looked out the window and decided to phone Withers. It was six o clocks so her dancing lessons were over. I picked up the phone and dialed Withers number. I took a deep breath. "Hello?" a muffled voice came through the phone. "Hi, it's Quinn," I answered. Suddenly, bam! She had slammed down the phone. I was basically shocked. Who wouldn't have been?

Chapter 4

Shape up or ship out

Claire came home about midnight and mom got really mad. For once, I was a bit concerned of Claire-I mean, arriving home at midnight. I was kinda worried if she had been drinking at a club or something. Mom was thinking the same thing. Claire looked a bit drunk. I really hope she hadn't been drinking. Claire is sixteen…which is an age where people drink…I shivered. I was hearing all the commotion from my bedroom, and soon, when I heard mom say, 'have you'd been drinking at a club?' I got out of bed moderately. I scurried downstairs and saw Claire-there were dark circles under her eyes like panda, her eyelids were dropping and she looked sick. I got a little fright and not because mom told me to go upstairs, I went.

The beautiful island

The Beautiful Island

By Kat Christine Wang

On the Coast of England, there was a mysterious island. No one knew how it came there. No one discovered if any people live on the island-or if they have; they never came back to tell and no one knows why. But one girl discovers this island and cracks deep mysteries…

The Orange Sunsets and Beautiful Horizons

"It's not fair," complained Lydia. "How come they get to go to the beaches and we get to stay here and just mop around," Lydia cried. Wolfgang aka Ari sighed and slowly shook his head. "The Orange Sunsets and Beautiful Horizons are to die for," Wolfgang said. Lydia stumbled on the sofa. Wolfgang got some magazines out and started flipping them boredly. Lydia sighed and pushed her brown hair back. Her cousins were so lucky, getting to stay at a beach house. Wolfgang and Lydia were siblings; except Wolfgang's real name is Ari, but he changed it to 'Wolfgang' because he is fascinated in opera and music.

A surprise

4 years after that…

The stillness of the island along the coast of island was ignored. People weren't curious-they were all minding their own business. Except for one person…Lydia. Lydia's personality is part of curiosity. Every day when she goes on tight walks around the beach, she would take one glance at the island, look back and glance again. She would ask her uncle about the island.

"Please, I want to learn about the Beautiful Island," pleaded Lydia, begging to her uncle. Her Uncle Richard frowned and dipped his writing feather into some ink. "The island is none of your business," he grouched. He wrote a few letters on a piece of parchment. "Please, uncle. I'm mildly interested," objected Lydia. Richard sighed and puffed out of his nose and glared at his niece. "Go and do something useful-and at noon I'll tell our maids to make your favorite lunch," he warned and got back to his work. Lydia sighed and glared at her uncle and stormed off, arms folded. Then, she went to the beach and kept gazing over at the island. She really wanted to fly to it. As she thought glumly. I wish Uncle Richard could teach me…she added glumly. She glanced over to the horizon. It was nearly dark. but she could fee; dizziness in her head…slowly….she could feel like she was falling…falling…falling…falling…falling…falling….falling…falling….falling….falling….down…..down….down…down…down…down……………………………………..

The Beautiful Islands Adventure Begins…

At first, Lydia didn't know what had happened. First, she was gazing over the horizon, where the mysterious island was near. She was falling…and falling…and falling…and falling…and falling…and falling…soon, she landed on a pile of sand. Poof! She had wondered where is. She looked around. It was a small circled atmosphere and it was covered in sand…It must be the island! Thought Lydia excitedly but then her face fell as she thought it back.

"Why am I here?" she thought out aloud. She dusted some sand off her trackpants and looked around. There were pine trees, palm trees, and there was water, surrounding the atmosphere! It must be the island! You write your own story here:……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Break! Write what you think will happen next; what is going to happen next?

What happened next?

This is what happened next:

What happened next was that Lydia saw a beautiful palace at the far end of the island! She sighed dramatically and stepped forward. After all; it had been her dream to learn about the beautiful, mysterious island. She went inside the palace-which was made out of marble-as she stepped in, she shivered. It was very exciting and could finally learn about the mysterious island! As she entered through the marble doors…

You now have to continue the story-what happens next?

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

What really happened next…?

When Lydia opened the doors, she saw how amazing it was! The walls were glassy marbles. She looked over at the pictures. There were pictures of queens, kings and even princes and princesses. The whole palace was made out of marble; there were even marble chairs and other utensils that were completely marbled like crazy! When she went to the royal thrones, she saw a king sitting on a red marble throne and the queen, too. There was a little sand puppy and it was very loyal and cute. "What do you want?" The King grouched grumpily. Lydia flinched she never the King could be so grouchy. "I-I…" she stammered. The queen frowned and whispered something to the king. The king looked at Lydia and spat. "How DARE you interrupt this castle!" hollered the king. The marble palace shook a bit that got Lydia on nerves. She just nodded nervously. Then she quickly added, "I'm very, very, very sorry I intruded."

NO HORSING AROUND

Pony Secrets

No Horsing Around!

Heh, heh, heh….

"Gah!"

"Wasn't my fault!"

"Hey! You know it was!"

"Shut up!"

And the fight continues on and on and on…

Edina's mum's friend, Mrs. Dan and her daughter, Sophie Dan is moving in in Edina's family farm for a week. Edina hates Sophie so much… after last times visit. Sophie is just a brat that brags! Even more, when Sophie moves her pony, Shadow to share a field with Edina's pony, Sunset, Edina refuses but Sophie just wants to cause trouble.

Made a horse vomit, kicked out some FRESH hay, gave Sunset eat the wrong grains, AND switched Edina's favorite CD's with the one's she hates… How can Sophie STOP?!

Chapter 1

A truck arrived and slid down the road as I heard it. This is it, I thought coldly. Time to meet Missy Bratty Brag… I was peacefully doing her school projects in my room and on my desks when the doorbell rang. I sighed and cut out some blue paper into star shapes. Mum had invited her friend, Mrs. Dan over to come over for a week. Worst of all, she was taking Sophie, her daughter with her. Footsteps came in. I heard mum say, "Well, hello Mrs. Dan and oh, lovely Sophie. Come, come in. I'll show you your rooms. I hope you remember everything from two years ago…" My mum's voice trailed off. I put her scissors down, closed my eyes and pressed my lips together. It wasn't long before mum broke the bombshell… "EDINA! Why don't you say hello to Mrs. Dan and Sophie?! Don't you remember them?!" mum yelled, as she got some tea bags. I groaned and threw my pencil on the ground. That was the LAST thing I needed! I trotted downstairs and found Mrs. Dan, dressed up in a sunhat, a big flowery dress with sunglasses and her hair was all curled up. When she saw me, she snickered and pushed her curly blonde hair back. "Well, nice to see you again…I think. By the way, was that your pony in the paddock?" she asked brainily. I sighed quietly. She must have meant Sunset; my beloved Palomino pony was out in my family's farm paddock, obviously. I nodded. I hated Mrs. Dan as much as Sophie, but you never know. Mrs. Dan's face dropped and patted Sophie on the back. Sophie, the brat was dressed in a lovely dress, matching Mrs. Dan's, her dark blonde hair in pigtails and mild curls. When I caught her eye, Sophie gave me a harsh stare or glower. I flinched. I needed rescue. But mum was making tea when it was like 8:30pm in THE NIGHT and dad was upstairs worrying about some things that I don't officially worry about. There was no escape. But Mrs. Dan continued her talk. "Well, I think it was Sunset? Oh yes, it was. Sophie told me or reminded me on the plane that Sunset was a very, ur, um ugly horsey as you see and he definitely is. Who'd bought me for you?" she asked evilly. I felt like gasping but I didn't. did she just say that Sunset was ugly? I'm sure she did. I looked around cautiously to see if mum was there to defend me. But she wasn't. So, I glared in defend at Mrs. Dan and Sophie. "Sunset isn't ugly! In fact, he is a very good race horse! Get it? Thoroughbreds are BORN to be RACE HORSES! Try him out in a Melbourne Cup and keep calling him ugly! Go ON!" I screamed at them. Especially Sophie. Mum had heard and came charging in the lounge. She looked very cross. "Edina! You're so RUDE! Go to your room and think about respecting our guests!"

Chapter 2

I hate them. Every bit of them. No, it's Sophie that I loathe. Every bit of her. So here I am, in my room on my bed, loathing Sophie so much and how just then, mum came into my room and asked me what was going on. I explained that they called Sunset ugly. She said that now she wasn't mad at me but I really have to watch my temper. And I mean REALLY have to. And, oh, gosh, Sophie is sharing a room with ME! She is sleeping on the bottom bunk and I am in the top. I LOVE the bottom but she just begs people and gives puppy eye things. Suddenly, the door swung open and Sophie was there, carrying her suitcase and her teddy bear. She sat on the bottom bunk while I was lying on the top. "You really hurt my mum's feelings, you know," she said, every word pitching higher and rising higher and higher. I shrugged and sat up. "Oh yeah? I have feelings too. I bet you if you tell your mum that it'll be new news for her. it was horrid to say that Sunset, MY pony was ugly." I shot back at her firmly. I twirled my wavy brown hair which was in a side-ways pony tail. Sophie started throwing her night gowns on her bed. They were all flower patterns, of course. "But, you didn't have to be so mean! You… look, I'm going to get you one day and who knows when?" she said, still going higher, but calmly. I shrugged once more. "Oh, bother. Who cares anyway?" I said and climbed off the ladder when… Stuck-up Sophie blocked the ladder half-way so I fell on the ground, flat on my back. That gave Sophie the fit giggles. "I'm SO sorry!" she laughed. I groaned and grabbed my pj's and went to the bath. It was going to be a very long week.

Sophie has brought her pony, Shadow over to my family's farm. She told me just now and said that she's going to put Shadow in my paddock which has Sunset in it. No way. No way. No way am I accepting it. Her family's horse truck is arriving tomorrow morning. My mum came in to say goodnight and said to go to sleep early because I have school tomorrow. "Um, kiddies, Sophie, Shadow are going to arrive sooner tomorrow. Where shall you like to put him? In the paddock, box or meadow?" asked mum soothingly. Sophie beamed and said, "Paddock." I grimaced. "NO! she is NOT sharing a paddock with Sunset! NO, NO, NO!! It's not fair-Sunset gets his own paddock, so does Dad's horse, Cowboy gets the meadow all himself and mum, you horse, who hasn't been named in years gets to go in the barn alone! She can put Shadow in the box!" I said this all too quickly but Sophie and mum did understand. Sophie did a small pout and mum gave me a trouble stare which meant: You are being rude… I didn't care. Thank goodness. Mum had just left the room and said we can talk about it tomorrow morning. Mrs. Dan came in our room, in her oh-so-lovely flower gown. "Goodnight, Sophie poppet!" she greeted and turned up to me. "Oh, Edina." And left. I was glad.

Chapter 3

Today is a Wednesday morning. I feel unfresh from last night. Sophie had been snoring all night long so I couldn't get to sleep properly, especially in the top bunk. The alarm was set at 7:30am. Suddenly, Sophie got up slowly and yawned. "I'm going to check on Shadow. Maybe he's here. I'm going to put him in the paddock, OK?" Sophie was saying. I gaped at her and quickly climbed down the ladder. "You can't! put him in the box… please?" I say quickly. Sophie smirked and shook her head. "No can do. Shadow is better than stupid Sunset. And guess what? Mummy said that to prove better that Shadow is the best pony ever, me and you; Edina can do a simple cross-country course this morning. Mum has already set it up." She said smartly. I grumbled and went to brush my teeth. I didn't need Sophie mocking me all day.

After school, I saw Mrs. Dan coming to pick me up. Oh God, I thought. She was with Sophie in cool neat, flowery pattern clothes. Oh, and matching sunhats. It was embarrassing enough. I got told of twice in school. In English by Ms. Brunettes. "Edina Loth, sit up straight please. We are at school in learning time, not for a holiday!"… And once in science class… I wasn't really listening to what Ms. Smith was saying so I got caught up in a lovely daydream about me pushing Sophie and Mrs. Dan down a muddy sludge hill, then them sinking in mud and… "Miss. Loth! Since you are not listening and busy daydreaming and think you know everything, will you answer this? What becomes when the acid in liquid is finished?" growled Ms. Smith suddenly. I flinched and didn't know what to say. If only Sunset were here… suddenly, my best friend Arden nudged me in the ribs during math. She was sitting next to me so it was easy to cooperate. "Sleepover at mine on Friday? Bring Sunset in the horse truck!" she hissed. I nodded and smiled to myself. At least there was one thing that cheered me up.

Chapter 5

As I said, Sophie and her mum asked me to race after school and I refused. I am so not going to do it. Mum and I argued about Shadow and if she should share a paddock with Sunset or not. "It's NOT FAIR!" I yelled while I was tacking Sunset up for a trail ride with mum, Sophie and Mrs. Dan. "Totally! Each horse or pony gets its own stall or private place! Surely it wouldn't hurt for Shadow to be placed in a box!" I continued as I placed on the saddle. Mum shot back that it was a NEW guest we were talking about. Soon, we were out on the trail and hills, me riding Sunset, mum riding Cowboy, (Dad's horse.), Mrs. Dan riding on Shadow with Sophie at the back, Sophie's arms firmly wrapped around her mum's. Mum and I were still arguing loads. I tried not to scream too loud or the horses might jolt. Soon, Mrs. Dan got into the argument, too. Clearly, she was on mum's side. "Yes, my sweet Sophie and her horse, Shadow should be in a paddock. You don't won't to be mean don't you?" said Mrs. Dan in a mocking voice as we trotted on the trail path. We turned back as soon as we reached the lake. It was getting dark.

"Edina, did you feed Cowboy?!" dad shouted from the study. I froze as the theme of The Simpsons trailed off. "Oh, Sophie fed him!" I yelled back. Suddenly, the back door opened. Sophie was back from 'feeding' and 'nursing' the horses and ponies. "You have better not touched Sunset!" I warned as I squirmed in the sofa. Sophie stopped walking and looked at me with these big, innocent eyes. "No, course not. But you better check on Cowboy." She smirked and headed off upstairs. I grumbled and headed to the meadow. What HAD she down with my parent's horse? Well, it wasn't actually my parents. It was just an extra horse if anyone wants to ride one. Cowboy was in the meadow, same as always, bay colored and petite but… he vomited. He threw up.

I zipped up my coat and coaxed at Cowboy. "Hey, boy. Are you alright? Why were you vomiting? Ehg!" there was a patch of vomit on the grass. I tried not to step on it. It was at least 6:00pm so if should be fine. I checked Cowboy's food and water when I realized… Sophie had fed Cowboy 6 pounds of oats! Typical! He's stomach was fat and he looked pregnant but obvious he wasn't. I felt anger rush through me head to toe like thunder. I quickly ran back to the house and told mum and dad everything. Mrs. Dan was there, looking proud about what Sophie had done. "Really? We should get a vet tomorrow then. I heard the local vet doesn't do night shifts," said mum. Dad nodded and looked white as sheet. He usually uses Cowboy to round up cattle in the nearby working ranch. Mrs. Dan and Sophie looked as if they were trying not to giggle. I stormed out of the room and headed for the bathroom. How dare Sophie? I bet Mrs. Dan had been up all night to make up these horrid plans!

Chapter 6

I got dressed up for Thursday, but guess what? No school because school holidays are catching up! Sophie got up during the middle of the night for some reason. I heard the door close softly last night. She must have checked on Shadow but then I remembered what she'd done with Cowboy last night. Mum and dad didn't blame her because Sophie said that it was an accident. It WASN'T! Luckily, Dad called a vet to check on Cowboy this morning. I couldn't attend Arden's sleepover, exactly. I had to see Cowboy. In fact, I wish Sophie wasn't here. Life would be so much better without her. I am not speaking to her or her mother because she done something that really annoyed me. Today, when I was listening to one of my Taylor Swift CD's, Mum barged into the room and started to flap her arms everywhere saying that we need to shut down the barns because the news weather said that there was a due storm coming soon. So, I left my bedroom to help my close the barn and load up the horses before we have a big flood. And guess what? I should've known Sophie came in the room and started arranging my GOOD CD's with some heavy metal music her brother Josh had in his heavy metal rock bands. When I came back, I went to listen to the stereo but I guess the earphones were turned up the volume REALLY high so I ended up hearing LOUD, VERY LOUD HEAVY ROCK METAL music coming into my ears. It took a while to for my ears to stop hurting. I went into the kitchen and started yelling at Sophie. "HOW DARE YOU?!" I yelled. "You brat! You are going to pay soon!"

All Sophie did was a simple shrug and kept chewing on her alfalfa. I grumbled and went to the barn to check on the horses before the drought comes and something really ALSO BUGGED ME!!! I wanted to feed Sunset but I couldn't find any fresh hay. I called dad to come. He pulled out the leftovers hay. "Mm. I can only find moldy hay. I wonder where the fresh one is?" he said to himself. I gasped. Who would throw out some expensive, FRESH hay? Who would be eager to feed their own pony out-of-date, unfresh and moldy hay? My head clicked and anger flushed through me. Sophie! She must have thrown out the hay. I got so furious that I marched into the living room, where Sophie was watching 'Play-School'. I glared at her. "You are getting on my ruddy well nerves!" I scream at her. "You watch Play School which is technically for stupid babies with their stupid appetite when Shadow is STRAVING and so is the rest of the horses for hay and all you can do is mop around being an annoying baby bug?! Honestly, Sophie, how exactly OLD ARE YOU?" I added loudly. Her mother was with her and glowered at me. Mum came in as well and chewed me out for yelling at Sophie. I told mum what she had did. "Alright, but I think it was an accident!" mum snapped. "Wasn't it, Sophie?"

Sophie nodded and Mrs. Dan told my mum to leave with Sophie so she can talk privately with me. She closed the door and glowered at me.

Chapter 7

You ridiculous girl!" Mrs. Dan was saying. I made a run for it. I eyed an apple juice on the table. It was in a glass. Mrs. Dan taunted me some more when I had enough. I pounced on her like a panther ready to attack and pulled her curly fair hair. She screamed and tried to pull me off. When she did, I slumbered to the ground and hit my butt so hard that I felt like crying. Lots of screaming was happening and Mrs. Dan going wild. That's when I totally had it. I grabbed the glass of juice from the table and splashed it all over Mrs. Dan. Even of her face. Mum, dad and Sophie came storming in and said what the heck was going on? Mrs. Dan got furious then. "Sophie and I are leaving tomorrow, no excuses! Come on Sophie, I'll call the horse truckers to take Shadow home. But for now, Soph, please go and pack up!" Mrs. Dan hollered. Sophie gave me a dangerous glare which meant: When I see you again, I will pay you back the price!

As if I care.

The end.

The Significant Last Dog of Development

Casey's Story with a Twist

Read Casey's true story…

Birth

My parents were called Bob and Fluffy (Maltese dog, too) I was born on September the 25th 2004. I am a Maltese dog, 4 years of age now, brown eyes, small and white. My owners are Kat, Mary and Roy and Jessica. Kat and Jessica are sisters and Roy and Mary are their parents. This is my story but Kat and Jessica are going to help me to tell it to you…

Jessica here…

We gotta tell you that Bob and Fluffy's pregnancy's was at summer, near Christmas, with a litter of pups. They were born at my aunt's house, at night and first Aunt Juliana slipped all the puppies in the house, to feed them milk and to keep them warm. Bob and Fluffy were barking their lungs out. Kat, Mum and I went over to their house to look at the puppies. Kat was about six years old and I was about eight and a half. Since, Kat and small and a bit dumbfounded (I guess) she wanted to call a new born puppy, 'Poodle'. Mum obviously thought, what rubbish! The new born puppy wasn't Casey. It wasn't because three days later, it didn't survive and me and Kat were crying buckets full.

The time we got Casey was the year after. I was nine and Kat was still six and a half. Kat and I were begging mum to get us a puppy dog from Aunt Juliana's house. So she gave us Casey. Casey's health isn't so good, you see, when she was a puppy, Grandma's hands were like bricks. She accidently squashed Casey's backbone so Casey had to go to the vets to get her checked up. Since then, everything had been merry…until the day we'd lost her.

Gone

Kat here…

Well, Casey and I ALWAYS use to play kick the ball at our back yard. It was so fun-UNTIL THIS HAPPENED!

Grandma always been around our house when I was ten and Jess was twelve. She came to do cleaning. But trust me; her cleaning always got it into trouble. We adopted our cat, Balina then so the only thing on her mind was Balina-not Casey; but since she is old, her brain might go fuzzy because when I was at tutoring with Jessica, she was cleaning the house and she FORGOT TO CLOSE THE GATE!!! So, there went Casey, gone out. Balina was fine; since she's a CAT! They know homes, and some dogs do but NOT Casey! We haven't taken her out for a LONG, LONG, LONG time! Jess, mum, dad and I looked for her in the parks, shopping centers-EVERYWHERE! She wasn't there until I hears barking coming from 3 houses to the left of us. It was Casey's bark, all right. So, the next morning I stuck a big: MISSING DOG sign on their pole near their house. It was in big red letters and whoever finds Casey, gets 10 bucks, but Jessica accidently typed 100 bucks in it, but if anyone finds Casey, I'll just say if a spelling mistake was. And, Jess said, "And if that house that I know that has Casey in it, comes to us and brings Casey back, I'm totally not giving em a hundred bucks or ten; I'm gonna give em a dollar," I'm not sure if that was a joke or not. Right now, our garden is cleaner without Casey, to be honest; she just pees and poops everywhere! Mum says if we never, ever find Casey, she'll let me go buy another cat cos' they're much cleaner and everything. Just as long as if we get Casey back, maybe, just maybe we'll let the dognapper take care of Casey. For a refund, I guess.

Cheerios! Have a Wonderful Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!! C u next year!

If Polly isn't being treated well in a vet, she'll be in hard pain or possibly, lose her life and her foal.

Meanwhile, the whole Polly and the Foal situation has got the three girls spilt up. Will they find a way to be best friends again?

Chapter 1

"This is crazy, where is she?" Endora Smith whined, hitching her sleeping bag higher on her shoulder. Clair winced and did the same. Clair and her friends were going to have a sleepover at their local stables/pony club tonight. Clair had broken up with her long-time friend, Jade but made some great new friends at pony club last year, Endora and Sandy. "There!" cried Clair, pointing Sandy, who was concentrating down the road on her bike. It was easy to spot Sandy with her red curly hair and deep freckles and pale skin. "Sorry I'm late! I had to pump up my bike! Dad had to do it and it took aa-aa-ge—ees," Sandy admitted. "I've sneaked some carrots from the fridge this morning. I knew the horses would love it!" Endora whispered, patting her right pocket. Endora may look cute and innocent, with her cute, blonde curls, and bobby fringe and adorable blue eyes, she's naughty in the inside. "Better not let Fifi or Brook see that," Clair warned, looking over at Brook, who was telling an old lady something and was five meters away from them! "Hey! Hey! Fifi said it'll be lights out at eight because the junior pony club members are doing this big competition," Clair hissed as they set out for the getting-to-know-you trail ride. It was 10.20am, and Brook wanted the junior pony clubbers and senior pony clubbers to get together on the getting-to-know-you trail rides. Sandy and Endora, when Clair met them, they had loved the getting-to-know-you trail rides. It goes for two hours, a break in the middle of each hour, so you could 'stop, dismount, chat to others and stretch your legs,' as Brook said. Clair didn't seem to think so. Before she usually hated the getting-to-know-you trail rides. But now, with Sandy and Endora it seemed more fun. Brook called onto them, "Saddle up, girls! We'll be with the junior members, in a minute!"

Clair got used to the junior pony clubbers. Most of them were 'good' but one girl in particular was getting on Clair's nerves. "OK, I'm going back to the kiosk to tell Fifi something and to get a drink. I'm going to have Clair, Sandy and Endora to look after the little kids. Remember, girls, you're going to lead them up that hill and go around, OK?" Brook said, giving her horse, Thunder a slappy pat. Clair groaned but Endora seemed happy to take care of them. She gave a cheerful wave to Brook as she rode off. "Can't believe it," Clair muttered to herself. The girl that was getting on Clair's nerves was a girl called, 'Jessica'. She had this dynamic, punchy attitude. "There always had to be a Lara Moribeeto in every group has there?" Murmured Sandy, who was not enjoying horseback baby sitting at all. Endora ignored them and pulled her lovely Arabian Saddle-bred, Sunshine into a halt. Clair thought Sunshine's coat and mane, matched with Endora's white blonde hair-Sunshine's mane was Palomino blonde white, just like Endora's! Her coat, too, could at least stay improvement, as Clair thought, looking in disgust how the fleabag caught many flies buzzing around. Jessica grumbled all the way through the walks. "I hate walking!" she complained bitterly. Clair egged her most lovely grey Thoroughbred horse, Everest (Who was named that because he was very tall.) to be standing side-by-side with Jessica's dapple chestnut pony. Clair looked closely at Jessica. She was the spitting-image of Lara. Then, she remembered that Lara had a sister. Well, maybe it's Jessica, thought Clair. Both were, nasty, snotty and mean. They had to be sisters. "Jessica, are you Laranna's sister?" asked Clair, trying not to sound hoarse. Jessica frowned at Clair, her big brown eyes accusing. "Yes. Not that it's any of your business," she said rudely, kicking her horse angrily. "Don't do that," warned Clair. "You could hurt him," she added. Jessica's dapple chestnut pony was called Dandy. Not a nice name, as Clair thought. She stayed out of Jessica's way, soon found herself in the middle of her two best friends. "Jessica's a nightmare! When is Brook going to come back?" asked Clair, annoyed. Endora smiled and gave Sunshine a pat. "Look, Clair, um, Brook said she couldn't come back to take care of the kids. We have to do our job," Endora mocked, but she was serious. Clair grumbled. Sandy sighed dramatically. "Alright, kids! Halt now! We're going to canter up the hill safety, one by one!" Sandy called from the back. Clair rolled her eyes. "Are you kidding me? They hardly no how to canter-or gallop, as a matter of fact! And tell me about one-by-one!" Clair pointed out to Sandy. But Sandy ignored her and watched the kids canter up the hill one-by-one. "Jessica, you're taking Dandy to fast! That's a gallop! We need canter!" Endora assured as Jessica had her turn. Jessica seemed to be kicking and kicking Dandy angrily and rushly. When Jessica finally reached the hill, Sandy and Endora cantered up the hill together, leaving Clair to go to a trot or walk with the beginner riders. This is soooo boring! She thought. "OK, break!" Clair called as she finally reached the hill with the beginners. Everyone either dismounted, or chatted to eachother on horseback. Clair, Sandy and Endora all dismounted and gave their ponies to graze at the yummy grass while they chatted. "Jessica is a pain!" groaned Clair. "She's exactly like Lara! No wonder why they're siblings." She picked some grass. "Lucky Lara's not here today. She's got the flu," objected Sandy helpfully. "More like the 'mean' flu," joked Endora. "Nah. You'll be lucky if it's the 'growing to be a giant' flu that no expert doctor could fix!" Clair joined in.

Chapter 2

"Hey, isn't that the new horse, Polly?" Sandy whispered to her friends as they curled their sleeping bags in the hay loft. Clair glanced up and walked to the kiosk to get her boots and helmet off. "Yeah, I suppose so. She's a mare, you know. Saddle-bred bloodlines. Pretty cool, huh?" Clair said without much excitement at all. She just wanted to watch Brook unsaddling Everest, Sunshine and Broochy. Brook told the three girls that she would 'owe it to them' just by unsaddling their horses. Polly was a new mare the stables have brought just last week. She was 15 hands tall, brown and black bay with coal dark eyes. "That horse is beautiful!" Endora breathed, forgetting to take of her boots. "Yeah, it is," said Clair, not looking up. "C'mon! It's almost six thirty! Let's tell ghost stories in the loft!" the three girls climbed up to the loft and started telling ghost stories. "I think it's dark enough, so I'll start!" said Sandy bossily. Clair rolled her green eyes. "Now, this one is a funny scary story. Once there was a girl named Lara Moribeetle her last name followed by tradition-Moribeetle. She had black beetles coming out from her mouth…"started Sandy. Endora giggled and twirled one of her white blonde curls. Clair picked at some hay broadly, but she was interested. This isn't a ghost story at all! She thought but she kept listening. "Christmas beetles coming out of her brain and scurries in her hair…and red ladybeetles coming out of each ear and yellow ladybeetles legs dangling from her eyelashes…" Sandy paused and lit up torchlight and shined it beneath her face. Clair had a weird visual image of it and started to laugh. Sandy gave her a grave dangerous stare so Clair covered her mouth wildly. "Then, one day she went to a riding school much like this one. Everyone thought she was snobby so she never came back again but that's on the only reason. When she was riding her horse, all the beetles ate her up!" Sandy finished proudly. Clair gave a low whistle then giggled. So did Endora. "Wow! I'm so scared!" joked Endora. "Girls, it's lights out!" Fifi's head suddenly popped up from the hayloft. "Sorry, Fifi!" giggled Sandy. Soon, they all curled up in their sleeping bags and the lights went out but Clair had a master plan. She bought a torch with her and she lit it up. "I'm not tired. It has quite been a day," Sandy did a pretend yawn. Clair sighed. "Yeah, it's only Saturday. Mum says I could stay here tomorrow for my lesson. That's what I'm here for," she explained. "Cool," commented Endora quietly. They all turned off their torches and went back to sleep.

Clair woke up at midnight and tossed and turned in her sleeping bags. Her friends were wide asleep. She found her torch under her sleeping pillow and lit it on, hoping Endora or Sandy would wake up. They didn't. Slowly, she crept out of her sleeping bag and found her way with a torch. Most of the horses have been brought in because a late shower was said to come. Clair trotted over to Everest's stall and gave him a pat on his forehead. The grey wasn't asleep, either, just prancing around. "Hey, boy," she whispered gently. "Did you miss me?" Everest swayed his head to a right Dutch stall. Clair looked over. The stall next to Everest's was Polly's. Neither, Clair didn't know what was wrong. Polly was prancing around tensely and nervously. The bay's stomach was huge, and to Clair's eyes, they were more than huge. "Are you OK?" she whispered, opening the Dutch door. She stepped in, securing her ponytail tightly, hoping she hadn't got any bed-heads lately. She tried to get close to Polly but the bay mare seemed to get angry and step back. Annoyed is more the word. "It's OK. Ur, what's wrong, Polly? Shall I go wake up Brook or Fifi to see you," asked Clair cautiously. Polly flicked her head so her flashy mane swished. Clair looked at the bay's belly. It was going all wobbly and huge! She must be pregnant! Clair thought horridly. I HAVE to wake up Endora and Sandy! She woke up Endora and Sandy just in time. "Well? Polly looks like she's due to a foal!" Clair exclaimed as the three girls walk quietly in their pajamas to Polly's stall. "Poor thing," yawned Endora. Her blonde curls were all messy from bedheads. "Poor thing? We have to warn Brook, especially," Sandy hissed urgently but Endora yawned and did some more fake yawns. "May we go back to bed-if Fifi-or Brook finds us wandering around the stables we're going to be in big_" but Endora was interrupted by a call. "Hey! You three! What are you doing here in the middle of the night?!" the girls saw a shadow of brook and a lamp light in her hand. "We were just…" started Endora, looking loads more awake. "We were…looking at Polly coses her stomach looks huge and her temperature is high and we suspect she's having a foal…" Clair stammered. Brook looked surprised. "You guys shouldn't be here now and Polly's not having a foal, Clair. That's nonsense! Go back to your sleeping bags before Fifi or Ringadale finds you!" Brook hissed. The three girls cheekily ran back to the hay loft, trying not to giggle. "Doesn't she believe us?" asked Clair in the dark, as they got into their sleeping bags. "You mean, doesn't she believe you that Polly's going to have a baby," Sandy said tiredly. Clair had her eyes wide open in the pitch dark. She thumped back on her sleeping bag, annoyed. She was so sure that Polly was going to have a foal. Why didn't anyone believe her?

Chapter 3

"Good work, Lara. Just lean forward a little, straight, crouched back, please!" Brook called onto Lara as Lara cantered through the arena. Clair winced. Lara moved like a ballet dancer on a horse. Laranna Moribeeto, as everyone called Lara, was always her usual snobby, rich, mean and snotty princess self. She always thought of herself the best. Lara had long dark hair and big, big, big brown eyes and huge lips. As Clair thought, at least, could stay improvement. They worked on the cantering, trotting, walking and galloping tests this morning. "She moves like an elephant," murmured Endora, who was on Sunshine. "Endora Lanchester! Since you find my classes fairly boring, would you like to go next in tests or would you like to share the conversation?" Brook told her off. Endora urged Sunshine on, ready for the trot tests. "Sit-and rising trot!" Brook instructed. It was no use-Endora somehow couldn't control Sunshine in the rising trot. "C'mon, Sunshine!" squeaked Endora, lifting her whip up, like she was about to whip him. "Stop, Endora! Don't use a whip! Just kicked Sunshine and he'll be OK," Brook told her. At the corner of Clair's eye, she could see Lara smirking. Lara's horse was the nicest horse in the barn-Perfection. Perfection was dapple Palomino and rushly cool trots. Finally, it was Clair's turn so she rounded up Everest, getting him into position. "Now-us, rising trot, then you can go for a canter." Hesitated Brook. Endora, on the other hand, thought this was unfair. "That's not fair! How come she gets to canter and I don't? All I have to do is a walk and a boring rising trot!" complained Endora, trying to pull Sunshine back, ignoring Clair moving the canter neatly on Everest. "Endora," Brook warned. "You need to work on your rising trot and your position in the saddle-I don't want you to work on extremes until you've learnt the basics,"

"Sunshine's been acting weird ever since," Endora said to her friends. "I don't know what's up. Should we report it to Fifi?" she added cautiously when Clair, Endora and Sandy walked to the rider's lounge. Sandy nodded, but Clair butted in. "Yeah, I need to tell Fifi about Polly's foal. She needs a vet and we don't know how long she's been pregnant so it could be fatal if we don't get her to see a vet," she said rushly as if it was the most important thing in the world. Sandy gave Clair and Endora some chewing gum and ignored Clair's speech about Polly being 'pregnant'. "You know what, Clair? You never know-maybe she's sick or something," offered Sandy helpfully. Clair shook her head and stamped her foot. "Then that's one reason why we should get her a vet! That's it-I'm talking to Fifi!" she complained, then when she was halfway out the door, Lara and her best, snobby, rich and mean friend, Natalie both giggled at this. "Ohhh! Clair thinks one of the school horses is pregnant. Wow! I'm so scared that it might be fatal! We need to tell Fifi!" mocked Lara in a fake voice. Endora chased after Clair. "Ignored her and her little friends. C'mon, I'm not saying that Polly is pregnant, but I'm coming with you to report about Sunshine. OK?" said Endora. Clair nodded, fighting back tears from Lara's stupid comment. When Clair turned around for a second she saw Zachary. Zach, to be exact. Clair never had fancied him but she had had this feeling that he fancies her. Zach chased after the two girls which stopped them in tracks. "What are you doing here?" asked Clair rudely. Zach looked taken aback. "Well, ur, I just wanted to say that Polly isn't pregnant and my family boarded Polly to this stable and she's not pregnant," Zach objected. Sandy sighed but Clair just rolled her eyes. "Yeah, what do you know?" she said. She hated the way she was acting toward him right now. But she had bigger things to take care off. She pulled Sandy to the kiosk, who was snapping a gum and who knew it landed on Zach's face?

Chapter 4

Clair unfolded the whole thing about Polly pregnant. "She has to be-look at her tummy, if you see! Remember, one of the junior riders ridden her and remember how she got so uncomfy on the trots? She has to be pregnant. We need to get her a vet!" Clair explained. Fifi looked at her blankly. "No, that mare's fine, thank you very much. I think she's OK to…" Fifi started but Clair interrupted her. "No! We need to let her see a vet! That's what we're here for!" Clair said. Fifi shook her head and Clair knew it was over. She sighed and sat on a bench near the racks of riding helmets. Endora was now telling Fifi about Sunshine. "He's so not him. He's so strange and I'm wondering if I could book a vet," exclaimed Endora excitedly. Fifi nodded this time. "Yeah, Brook told me in the lessons and getting-to-know-you trail rides, Sunshine is acting up. Well, I'll go get the vet booking books and we'll fill you in!" Fifi told her. Clair folded her arms across her chest. It wasn't fair. As Clair watched Endora fill the vet bookings in, she thought about Polly. During now, they didn't let people go beyond the metal fence. They either stayed in the kiosk or café. "How about this?" whispered Endora to Clair, showing her the booking form.

Horse name: Sunshine

Horse age: 16

Owner: Endora Chester

What's wrong with your horse?

Acting strangely, refusing rising trots but accepts canters.

Stall number: 7 Sunshine

"Mm. Is the last bit good? Should I put down that he doesn't eat enough carrots and apples, or is that good?" fumed Endora. Clair shrugged, looking over at Polly, the bay's tummy was huge and she was prancing around nervously. She has to be due to a foal, thought Clair. Clair and Endora went back to the rider's lounge to chill out before their jump lesson which will start in half an hour. "Ohhh. Here comes Clair! I look your jodhpurs!" said Natalie sarkily. Clair groaned. All she needed was sarky comments from Natalie and Lara. But Endora took no notice. All that Endora was glad about was that she had booked a vet for her horse. If only Clair did, too.

After Sunday, it was Monday-a school day. Clair hated school days, mostly. Especially now it was term 2, it got all messy. "Clair! Are you ready for school?!" her mum called out to her. Clair sighed and looked at her reflection in the mirror. She looked normal-except a bit of mud on her uniform dress from the jodhpurs. I wish I was still at pony club, thought Clair. I would've convinced everyone that Polly is having a foal. Luckily, Clair's friends, Sandy and Endora go to the same school: Willow Hall High, which is near pony club. Lara and Natalie, on the other hand, went to a private school uptown, High Society High School for proper Young Ladies and Gentlemen. It was an expensive charm school, which Lara and Natalie aren't improving very much to be 'polite'. Despite in the whole Polly situation, Clair smiled. She was hoping to see her two best friends.

"I seriously can't believe it! Polly is going to have a foal! I mean, her tummy-it's big and huge! She might be having twins and Fifi and Brook don't even let me book her a vet!" Clair complained to her two best friends at the morning of school. Sandy shrugged and hitched her bag higher. "Well, Endora has some good news-tell her Dora!" grinned Sandy. Endora grinned cheerfully, looking cute, since her curly blond hair was cut short and with a cute curly fringe and her blue eyes dashing. "Dr. Holly checked on Sunshine and she was fine! She says that one of the stable hands got her off her feed, and that's probably why she's always lying all the time-it was colic," explained Endora. Clair tried to look relived but she felt a bit annoyed. What about Polly? "Yeah, well, Polly is acting strange too, you know. Prancing around everywhere, stomach bulging, what you think that might be?" said Clair sarcastically. Before anyone could answer, the bell for homeroom rang. The three girls scattered to homeroom. "OK, class, get out your textbooks and write down what's on the board," Mrs. Loup, Clair's teacher called. Clair rolled her eyes. She was focused on Polly, not some stupid text type. If only I could go to the stables after school…I'll ask Sandy to come cos' I think I remember Endora has some kind of stoo-pid dancing exam thingy this afternoon so maybe if I could get Sandy's attention… At first, when Mrs. Loup stopped yakking about the work, Clair waved her hands to get Sandy's attention. Random, a boy who sits next to Clair gave her a weird look. "Are you sick or something; waving your hands like an utter lunatic?" Random whispered. Clair gave him a dangerous stare and waved her hands again. Sandy took notice. "Clair Houston, have you finished writing this down?" growled Mrs. Loup. Clair gulped and picked up her pencil and began copying the words on the board down. Once she placed the pencil down, she continued waving at Sandy, but again, Mrs. Loup caught her out again. Finally, the bell rang and Clair raced toward Sandy and Endora, who were talking about something near the door. "Hey, Endora! You said that you have your dancing thingy migigy this afternoon, right?" Clair started. Endora nodded and blushed shamefully. Endora really hated dancing lessons so far but her mother forced her to keep doing it or Endora will grow 'fat'. "Ur, then, Sandy. Can you come to the stables this afternoon to check on Polly?" she finished. Sandy stumbled and her face crumpled. "Sorry. I'm going to the movies with Random," she muttered. For a moment, Clair thought the word had turned upside-down and inside-out. "What?! Why didn't you tell me?!" screamed Clair, pulling her two friends by the sleeves outside. "That's exactly what we were talking about! We were going to tell you before you butted in," joked Endora. Clair thought that this was half sad and half happy news. But the question, she thought gleeily. Is Random the freaky, creepy and jerky guy who Sandy thinks is TOTALLY handsome, her boyfriend? "Is he going out with you?" she asked. Sandy blushed some more but nodded and looked over at the guys' playing soccer near the fields. Random looked up and gave a wave at Sandy. Sandy waved back and smiled. In cute boy terms, Random was cute. Though Clair wasn't interested in boys; but as she recalled. He was hot. Random had auburn hair, a fringe that nearly covered his dark green eyes. Typical, thought Clair. I have better colored eyes than him. Mine are light greenish color-his are like seaweed! I don't really understand Sandy could fall for him, she thought grimly.

Chapter 5

Sandy's date with Random and Endora's ballet and tap exams made it difficult to go to pony club and to stand up to Fifi to say that Polly is having a foal. But it made everything more difficult at home. "Mum, please! I want to go to the stables right now cos' I have something to do…" Clair trailed off. Her mum frowned. "I have to send Angie to her ballet practice. And today you don't have any lessons, so I don't understand why you want to go," her mum pointed out. Clair stayed silent. Angie, her older sister got everything she wanted. Ballet was her dream. Though not Clair's. Her mother wasn't a horsey one. "But mum…" wailed Clair. Her mother sighed while chopping the carrots. "Look Clair, why not finish off some homework?" he mother answered. Clair groaned and threw her head against the table. That was the last thing she needed. "Mum, I got extensions because of the Pony Clue gymkhana on Sunday, remember, mum? We only had two days to our whole homework then on Saturday there wasn't time cos' you had your birthday party and on Sunday was the gymkhana," explained Clair. Her mum nodded then pointed to the kitchen door. "Out," was the last word she said.

After doing the extensions for homework, Clair flopped back on the bed, thinking about Polly. The poor mare must be devoted but now. Polly must be in a lot of pain. And to Clair, it was serious, without Polly going to a vet; she could die and lose her foal. It was worse than Clair could imagine. Then, she thought about Sandy and Random at the movies. I wonder if they are kissing by now…thought Clair. But she had a vivid visual in her mind and giggled. With Sandy's curly dark red hair and beakish mouth and with Random's cool hair, they had to be kidding around. She sighed and thought of a dangerous thought about Polly. She needed a vet. Totally needed one. This is it, thought Clair bravely. I'm going to get mum to ring up Fifi and to book Polly a vet! She went back to the kitchen to tell her mum everything. "Well, I don't think that it's serious. I'm sure Brook could check it out." Her mum said to her. Clair groaned. Her mum knew nothing about horses. "It is serious, mum! If Polly doesn't get checked up soon and if her water breaks without a vet, she could lose her foal and her life!" cried Clair. Her mother sighed in frustration and gave up, eventually. She picked up the phone and dialed the stables number. Clair gave a sigh of relief. She heard her mother talking to Fifi on the phone. "Yeah, Clair says that this horse, Polly is probably having a baby and we wanna book a vet…" her mother was saying. Fifi on the other line said something else then they both hung up. "Well?" Clair said. Her mum shook her head. "Fifi said that there is nothing wrong with that horse. She's just nervous, that's all," her mother objected. Clair shook her head furiously. "Nervous of what?!" she shot back to her mother. "Well, Fifi said that we could stop worrying about this 'Polly' horse because she isn't ours, you know, Clair." Her mother pointed out. Clair thwacked her forehead and stormed back in her room. It was time for Plan B.

Chapter 6

"Did he kiss you? Did he kiss you?" the girls were back in pony club the next day, which was Tuesday after school for their lessons. Endora and Clair were all over Sandy from last night's date. The three girls were sitting on an outside café table, sipping juice smoothies. Sandy flushed deep red. For once, the quiet redheaded was quieter. "Well, Ur, he tried I guess," Sandy said quietly, almost a whisper. Lara and Natalie were four tables away from them. "Who kissed who?" Lara teased rudely. "Ohhhh… I heard that Ransom and Sandy sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a carriage!" mocked Lara and Natalie, with stupid grins on their faces. Clair rolled her eyes. "Ignore her," Endora said. But Lara and Natalie said it way too loudly. Zach and his gang, overheard it and joined in too. "Oh, not him! Zach is the last thing I need!" Clair murmured to her friends and winced. "Hi, Clair," Zach greeted. Clair tried hard not to look annoyed. "Hi," was all she said. "So…are you guys in today's jump and dressage, right?" Zach asked the three girls. Endora nodded and Sandy shrugged and Clair didn't say anything. "Hey, Zach!'' Laranna Moribeeto was flirting with Zach. Again. "Come and sit with us," Natalie said, twirling her dark blond hair with a sweet smile. Lara did the same and fluttered her eyelashes at him. "Oh, gross," muttered Endora. "Could you just see what she's trying to do to you, Zach?" Zach shrugged and smiled at Lara and Natalie and walked to their table. "See? He doesn't smell a rat when there is one," Clair said quietly. "Yeah, you mean two rats," corrected Sandy. "Totally," agreed Endora.

"OK, class, today we'll be jumping one meter and sixteen fences. Then, we'll move on to solid walls," Brook assured her class. "So everyone, check your stirrup lengths," orders Brook. Clair squirmed in her saddle. She was confident in jumping fences but she wasn't sure about a solid wall. "Ok, who'll wanna go first?" Brook asked the class. Lara smartly puts her hand up. The rest of the class groans while Lara beams. "Don't think she'll make it without a fall," muttered Clair to Sandy. Sandy nodded, but watched Lara carefully. Lara cantered like a tap dancer around the arena. As she approached to the 1m 16cm fences, she did it with knocking down all of them, but as she approached to the wall… Perfection reared and reared and reared. "Stupid pony, stupid pony!" that was Lara's favorite saying as a pony doesn't obey her. "Stop, Lara!" Brook cried, running to rescue. Lara dismounted and grumbled. "No surprise," said Sandy. "Who'll like to go next?" called Brook. Clair did. She concentrated on the canter and as she went closer to the fence, she shortened her reins and jumped neatly over. The solid wall was coming but she had no choice. She couldn't hesitate. And she did it. "Well done, Everest!" she was proud of the grey horse. "That's obvious she could take over a stupid solid wall jump!" Lara complained to Brook. "Everest is built to jump!" Lara was obviously jealous.

On Saturday and after the tack lessons, Clair thought about Plan B. She knew her friends weren't interested about Polly having a foal so she rather does it herself. She went back to the kiosk to take off her boots and helmet hat and tossed them back on the shelves. Fifi left the kiosk into the sunshine. OK, OK, thought Clair. All I have to do is get that vet bookings book and book Polly's name on it…simple…I think, she looked around and grabbed the vet bookings book and signed it quickly. "OK, I gotta go back to work," she heard Fifi coming toward the kiosk. Clair quickly closed the bookings and pretended to be interested in looking at the boots and riding hard hats. "Hello, Clair, what are you doing?" asked Fifi coolly. "Um…just checking out which helmet to wear for my next lesson…" answered Clair sheepishly. She went to the café stands where Sandy and Endora were. "Hey, guys. Anyone up for a drink?" offered Clair tiredly. "Yeah. Mango milkshake with extra ice," ordered Sandy with a grin. "And can I have a lime soda and tell them to put it in a glass with 6 ice cubes in and a packet of chicken crisps and carrot cake with a bit of latte," ordered Endora cheekily. Clair groaned. "I'm not going to remember all of that. Including my iced raspberry slushee. Who's coming in with me?" Clair said. "I'll," offered Sandy. And the two girls strolled in the café.

Chapter 7

"You did what?!"

"Why did you do it?"

"Are you insane?"

"Did Brook or Fifi catch you out?"

When it was ten past 2, the girls got their treats and Clair told them about sneaking a booking in. "But, you know, Clair. Polly may not be pregnant. Maybe she's eating way too much. You never know," objected Endora stiffly. Clair shook her head and slurped her frozen raspberry and shrugged again. It was naughty, but it was for Polly's sake. "You know, you shouldn't really have done that." Said Endora, munching on chicken crisps. "Yeah, but you couldn't change the past, could you?" pointed out Clair. "That wasn't even the past! It was fifteen minutes ago!" cried Sandy. This was getting frustrating. Her friends knew what she did and now it felt like the whole world is turning up on her. Clair rolled her eyes. "OK, OK, I know what I did and it was wrong, but Polly needs it-she has no vices-remember? If she doesn't get checking…" Clair started. "She'll start having vices," Sandy finished off for her. "Exactly," said Clair with a nod. "We get your trying to say Clair, but this is crazy-you have to say it to Fifi before making a booking," explained Endora impatiently, eyes on her carrot cake with extra latte sauce. "Oh, c'mon Endora! You both adored Polly when she got here, didn't yous? And I wasn't interested and now, I'm trying to help Polly!" cried Clair angrily. Endora rolled her baby blue eyes and her curly white blond hair bounced on her shoulders. "Yeah, but I don't go doing all that stupid stuff, like doing a booking without permission!" Endora snapped. Clair fluffed her blond hair furiously and tied it in a ponytail. Sandy joined in as she thought her two best friends were getting eachother into a fight. "Look, I agree with Endora. We should tell Brook that that booking was without permission," Sandy explained. Clair huffed. "Oh yeah? Sandy, maybe that's just you! And Endora: I think you should stay out of this! Both of yous! Dr Smith is coming next Tuesday, so I think that's fair enough to keep you guys away. Cos' I'm the one helping a mare! You guys could just go on and do bogey boarding!" fumed Clair loudly. Sandy gasped but Endora was surprised, mouth hanging open and eyes widened. "Bogey boarding?!" whispered Sandy, her cooper eyes looking like she was about to cry. Clair didn't understand. One part of her was angry at her friends, and another part was that she just wanted to be friends again. Instead, she acted coolly and said, "Yeah, bogey boarding." As calmly as she could. Endora's eyes flashed angrily, but her mouth is still hanging open. For a while, it was like awkward silence. It still was, even when Clair left the table.

Chapter 8

Clair had tears in her eyes that night. She had wrote in her diary about what happened to her friendship with Sandy and Endora. Calling them bogey boarders was definitely rude. Especially since they didn't much like to do anything on the beach. In one part, Clair wrote: Yeah, so it was rude to call Sandy and Endora 'Bogey Boarders'. I feel mad and sad at the same time. Is that normal? Though then, Clair scribbled the 'is that normal' part. Of course it wasn't normal! Soon, big, fat, unexplainable tears rolled down Clair's cheeks. She wiped them away and sat at her desk to get her homework out. She did the first sum, while tears were streaming down. 21039887 plus by 83210984 divided by 1697312 then times by 8907. "This is stupid!" hollered Clair, wanting to rip her math homework up. She wanted to burst into tears again. Everything had gone wrong. Really wrong. She hated it when her friends fought with eachother. All she wanted to do was save Polly. And now, it went to something worse.

On Tuesday, Clair's mother drove her to pony club to enter a fee in. while her mother was chatting non-stop to Fifi at the kiosk, Clair was in the lounge, sobbing. Her eyes were red bunny eyes. She couldn't stop. At five, Clair's mother had arranged Clair to help out as a stable hand. If Sandy and Endora were still friends with Clair, she would've been thrilled but she was just…not really sure. At four, Dr. Smith will come and check on Polly, which Clair had noted. She wished she could disappear. While crying, she didn't know who stepped in. "Well, well," a male's voice said behind her. Clair sniffed and turned around. She groaned. Not stupid Zach! And not now! She thought, rolling her eyes. "Hey, you look like you've been crying!" he said, surprised. Clair grumbled at him. "Duh-I am! I mean, I was!" she snapped at him, hoping her eyes won't be so red and weepy. "Whoa-the lion, the witch and the wardrobe," he winked. Clair rolled her eyes. "Yeah, well, by you saying that it looks like you've won the lottery," grumbled Clair. Once Zach found out what he had said, he blushed. "I didn't mean it in that way…I was just saying…" he trailed off but Clair cut him off short. "I don't care which way you meant it! Don't explain. Just don't," she said and strolled out of the lounge.

"Dr Smith, is she alright?!" breathed Clair. Dr Smith had just came out of the horses area to the kiosk where Clair was waiting. "Well, she's due to twin foals after a couple of months," he smiled at Clair. "Looks like you were right, Clair. Polly is due to two foals!" Fifi and Brook chimed up. Clair beamed. "I knew it!" she said. She knew that Polly was having a foal. Two foals! It was great news! I'm going to tell Sandy and Endora… Clair stopped that thought short. She remembered-her former friends weren't her friend anymore. Clair and her mum went to a table to sign a form for the getting-to-know-you trail ride. "Mum, I told you, I don't think I wanna go on this trail ride!" complained Clair. But as usual, her mother took no arguments and swiftly gave Fifi the form. Clair's mouth curved down as she took a pair of riding boots and helmet from the shelf. Going on a getting-to-know-you trail ride meant Clair seeing Endora and Sandy, as well. The girls made some sort of vow to meet on every second Tuesday to ride on a getting-to-know-you trail ride. As she mounted on Everest, she felt a shiver. What will Endora say on the trail ride? Clair had imagined it. Hey, Clair Houston, how are you? Good I hope! Sandy and I have been bogey boarding everyday of our lives, you know-it's totally fun! You should do it too-cos', after all, you're the one who called Sandy and I bogey boarders. You're telepathic! How did you know? Sandy will probably say, Oh! Yes, of course, bogey boarding is our totally FAVE sport! Maybe we should include that it's much more fun than horse-riding? You bet! Oh, how did you know we are bogey boarders? This was our secret or ours for like ever!! Endora and I knew you weren't our friend-we're all telepathic, aren't we all? Clair watched Brook tack up the Swedish Warmblood. Everest. Everest was a Swedish Warmblood. Swedish Warmblood. It didn't make any sense. She thought Everest was an Arabian. But all that time of owning Everest, he was a Swedish Warmblood.

Chapter 9

"OK, we'll get into a trot up that hill, who'll like to go first?" the getting-to-know you trail ride was getting awkward. Everyone, especially the senior rider, which includes Clair, Sandy and Endora, weren't talking to eachother. Though, Sandy and Endora remained close to eachother, they hadn't pepped a word out of eachother. Brook and Ringadale were leading the trail ride. "Right, ur, junior riders, go with Ringadale and seniors, come with me!" instructed Brook. "Great-that's all I need: too be with Sandy and Endora!" murmured Clair to herself. The two groups separated and Clair was getting annoyed. If Endora and Sandy didn't want to be her friend, they could forget about it, too. Because, she thought sternly. I'm going to quit riding!

At first, Clair never thought that quitting riding was a big issue. She thought it was an issue. But now, since her mother had just enrolled her in two things: art lessons and swimming, she could just forget about riding.

On Wednesday at school, though, it was different. At homeroom, Clair had the guts to walk up to Sandy and Endora and break the bombshell. Well, maybe it's not their bombshell, but it was really to Clair's. "Oh, it's you Clair. Woh…what happened to bogey boarding? We are such great bogey boarders, definitely," Endora was stiffened. Sandy clutched her books tighter and looked upset. "Wait guys! I have something to say-and I think you'll be pleased," started Clair nervously. "I'm going to-ur…I'm gonna…quit riding," finished Clair quietly. The two girls face was normal at first, but it was quiet, quiet Sandy who burst it out. "No! Of course we aren't pleased! You know, after that fight, we really wanted to be friends with you, but we thought you'd never want to talk to us ever again, so we thought, like, oh well, if she wants to not be friends, she has it." Explained Sandy. Endora nodded. "You can't quit riding! You can't!" cried Endora tearfully. Clair sighed. But then, she nodded. "OK, I won't quit only if we are friends again?" said Clair with a grin. Endora and Sandy looked please. Then, they all pulled in for a hug. "Yes, friends forever!" they cheered.
