Gold Hearts

th_heart-gold-128x128 The Dangerous Journey Follows..

There once was a small cottage farm at the edge of The Town called Dairy Gold Farm. It is where all the milk, cheese, butter, fruits and vegetables are made from gold. Strange thing really-who makes the food supplies on the farm?! Dairy Gold Farm comes to work usually at midnight and it is most peculiar! Who eats GOLD milk, cheese, butter and fruits? Well, that’s when curiosity kills the cat. Well, almost. Join Molly and her best cat friend,Belinda on this exciting adventure to solve the Gold Farm!

Chapter One

The Stevens Family

Molly Stevens was just an ordinary 11-year-old girl with long brown hair, olive skin and cute freckles and always wore jean trousers and pink sweat shirt. She lived on: Blueberry RD, South-East of Grandstreet 2984 in a small, little one-story  house. She lived with her Grandmother, Mrs Sue Stevens and her mother, Mrs Serena Stevens and with her tiny little, 1-year-old tortoise shell cat, Belinda. They were all a happy family with a much peaceful home. Although, they were very poor. They could only afford bread and butter for breakfast, jelly butter sandwich for lunch and buttered cabbage soup for dinner. And as for Belinda, the cute cat had to only eat one thing three times a day: Cat biscuits. “Meow!” there goes Belinda! “Meow!” there goes Belinda again! All the family (Including Belinda.) had to eat the most infancy, boring dishes in the world because they were so poor. Although, the Mayor of Grandstreet offers them $1000 a month to live. Though still-it was not enough. None of the Stevens Family starved but all of them, including the cat had to go to sleep with an empty feeling in their stomachs.

Molly was the first to complain. Each and every morning she had to walk to school-this was okay in Summer but in Winter, the Stevens family could hardly buy a coat to wear and little Molly Stevens had to walk to school in sashes and bows and ribbons. Oh, how cold it was! But the worst thing of all, is that every time Molly passes off to school, she walks pass a little bricked cottage with lots of land…a farm. There were about 78 cows (Estimated by Molly.) 18 flock of sheep (Estimated by Belinda, that walked to school with Molly.) a few chickens in the barn, twelve horses and a few ducks. And…golden eggs were laid by the hens, golden milk were milked by the cows, golden vegetables were planted by the mysterious farmer and golden fruit were picked from the ordinary trees. It was very, very strange, thought Molly as on a cold, frosty  Friday morning when she walked past the strange little barn cottage. “I wonder whose farm is this,” said Molly to Belinda, who was walking beside Molly on the snow. “It’s a complete mystery,” purred Belinda glumly, trotting along on the snow. Molly sighed. She didn’t want to be greedy and rude, but the farm was completely and utterly rich. Whoever owned the farm was really rich. She stopped walking along the snow for a second and turned to Belinda, definite. “Whomever owns this farm must be a total rodent!” sneered Molly. “He or she could at least donate some money to us, the Steven Family or any other poor people around the world!” She finished with triumph. Belinda was silent for a second. The only things you could hear was girls from Molly’s school giggling from distance. Suddenly, Belinda meowed in agreement. “Yep, Molly, I’m in total agreement with you!” Belinda started to lick her paws while Molly was fumbling with a piece of snowflake in her shoe. “Yeah. Oops-Belinda I got to go to school. I’m going to be late!” cried Molly as she adjusted her school bag. Ripped out broken papers flew out of her bag. Belinda yowled and ran away, leaving flying snow dust all over the place. “Belinda!” Molly scowled as she bent down to pick up her homework sheets. stock-photo-blue-tabby-cat-in-snow-on-a-foggy-winter-morning-56704909

(This is Belinda.)

Chapter Two

Rumor

Molly arrived at her school, lots of girls were playing at the nearby corner of the Plum Tree (Mind you, it was covered in snow!) at mid-morning break, everyone was talking about The Dairy Gold Farm. Molly was super eager to join their conversation but again, the girls were generated from really rich and wealthy families and didn’t appreciate Molly; a poor peasant girl to join them at anything.

“Ha, ha! I heard that the farmer of that rich farm was a old, shrubby man about the age of ninety,” exclaimed a wealthy girl called Shelly.

“That’s a freaking’ rumor!” shrieked Patty, another wealthy gal.

“Well, rumor of not, that man has got to be eating gold!” shouted Jessica, another wealthy gal.

“I know and you’ve got to be kidding me!” another girl shouted. Molly sighed. She didn’t had any friends at her school. Not even one. She shuddered. More snow started falling like crazy. Sooner than ever, Molly found herself in the girls bathroom, piled up beside the heater beside one of the toilets, cuddling herself. Why didn’t I tell mother to at least SEW a warm coat for me? Thought Molly. There was only 5 more minutes until mid morning break was over and she was already turning into a frozen popsicle.

Chapter Three

Bad Grades

After school was over, Molly walked home. The snow had cleared up a bit but she thought she had gotten the flu. “Acho!” sneezed Molly as she drifted past the Dairy Gold Farm. Everyone at school was gossiping about that farm. Some girls and boys thought that maybe an old man who ate gold was the farmer! Some girls and boys thought thought that a young farmer who had the magic strong enough to eat gold food! Ridiculous, Molly wanted to say. There could be no man who can eat gold and more ridiculously, a wizard who had the magic strong enough to eat gold. What a bunch of rubbish! Finally, Molly trotted back home, eagerly finding Belinda snoring away on the front yard’s fence which was covered in deep, white snow. Molly throws her backpack on the porch of the house. “Hiya Belinda!” whispered Molly gleefully. Belinda got into a standing up cat position and yawned and stretched her furry claws. Then she purred and butted her soft head against my arm. “What is up…Molly?” she purred a bit louder. Molly carried Belinda back inside the house. “First, I am on a curiosity mission-to find out who is that farmer who farms at that Dairy Gold Farm! And, you, Belinda is going to help me!” Molly cried grandly. Her mother wasn’t home and her Grandmother was taking a nap in the storage so heavily that Molly could hear her Grandma snore three rooms away.  Molly decided to light up a fire place. As she did, she watched her cat curl up near it. After lighting up a fire place, Molly sat opposite of Belinda on the soft carpet.

“Okay, so listen. I am making a secret plan to find out who is taking care of Dairy Gold farm. Are you up to help me?” asked Molly as quietly as possible. Suddenly, their front door unlocked. Molly’s parents were home! No time to make a secret plan now!

“Molly…?” Mrs Steven’s voice sounded worried. Molly jumped up from the carpet near the fireplace and walked to the front door, where Mrs Steven stood. Belinda followed her. “Yeah, mother?” asked Molly, a bit annoyed. Mrs Steven saw Molly and frowned deeper. “These results are terrible!” growled Mrs Stevens with rage. Molly flinched.

“Mum, calm down,” trembled Molly. “Those can’t be the actual results,”

“It so is your actual results!” hissed Mrs Stevens. Molly glanced at her HSIE Term 2 Test Paper. She had got 45% out of 100% questions correct. Okay, so 45% was actually bad! Molly started breathing heavily. “Mum…I wasn’t really concentrating,” she said, worried.

“These are very bad grades, Molly-what were you thinking of?” sighed Mrs Stevens. Molly sighed even deeper. Belinda rubbed against Molly’s leg. It was going to be a very long evening.

Chapter Three

The Plotting Plot

“So tomorrow at dawn we will set off a journey to The Dairy Gold Farm…” started Molly.

“And we will find out once and for all who is managing this gold farm,” purred Belinda. Molly nodded. Her and her beautiful cat were on a mission! A complete, utter, totally spies mission! They are going to hunt down whom or whomever is managing The Dairy Gold Farm. “Okay,” mewed Belinda. “So we are going to the Dairy Gold Farm at dawn,”

Yes!” said Molly, definite. Belinda purred contently. Tomorrow, at dawn. Molly and her best feline cat, Belinda were off on an adventure! One they will never forget!!

The Adventure Continues {And Begins…}
As Belinda and Molly walk through the heavy ice snow, they suddenly felt tired. They have been walking for more than a hour and still, they have not reached it. As the farm was close, but it was the snow that was slowing them down. “I’m really cold, even with my warm jacket on,” groaned Molly. Belinda purred and trotted on on the snow.  They both glanced sideways at each other and sighed. The snow was blowing at about below 0  degrees and the snow was falling down furiously.  “Meow!” Belinda yowled as her paw hit a paw cramp on a piece of snowball. Molly nodded wearily. Suddenly, she saw IT. The farm!!! “The farm!” yelped Molly between chattering teeth with excitement. Belinda, too, was excited. “But Molly-" Belinda purred off before Molly could step into the barn. “Are you truly sure that you want to do this? Remember, it is actually kind of suspicious, you know? And dangerous. You never know what could happen!” protested Belinda. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew the snow directly East. A few chickens from the barn chuckled. Molly and Belinda shivered. Then, Molly walked up to the barn door and through the paddock. Belinda followed, leaving a trail of snow paws along the snow.  As Molly pushed open the heavy, old, wooden barn door she took a deep breathe.  Slowly, the door creaked. C-rr—ee—aak…Belinda was always holding her catty breathe ever since the adventure had begun. Alas, the wooden old door finally creaked open, Molly held her breathe even more. What a surprise! The barn was full of ordinary chickens, ordinary horses, goats and cows! Molly glanced a glance over at Belinda, who was struggling to even purr out a single purr cat sound. Molly walked slowly as ever toward the hen cages. They were golden eggs! Shiny, extraordinarily Golden Eggs! “Oh my! Belinda, look at these eggs!” Belinda also stood aside Molly, looking inside the hen cage. There were ordinary, normal hens there but golden eggs! Belinda purred softly while Molly remained speechless, hearing the goats grunt loudly and the horses paw on the ground.  “C’mon, Belinda,” whispered Molly quietly, who was quavering in her boots. “We have to be as quiet as mice. Let’s go and see the horse’s hay,”

Chapter Four-

The Horse’s Hay

Once they reached the horses, which was in the far corner inside the barn, they investigated it as quietly as possible. The hay was gold! Solid gold hay yet the horses’ can still eat it! “Oh my goodness, look at the horses! They are eating plain, solid, golden hay!” hissed Molly. Belinda shook her head to one side. “It’s strange, eh?” said Belinda quietly, licking her paws. Molly nodded. “This is real gold we are talking about,” whispered Molly in the silence, watching the horses greedily munch on the gold hay. Belinda purred quietly as possible. The investigement was completely and utterly strange.

Soon, they left the barn in utter silence and arrived outside, where the paddocks, corn fields and vegetable patches were. The snow was clearing up a bit and the corn and vegetables weren’t so snowed. “Whoa!” breathed Molly. “Look at the golden corn! And carrots! And peas and peaches! Wow…” Belinda rubbed her head against Molly’s legs. “It is as magnificent, isn’t it?” purred Belinda. Though, Molly shook her head out of the ‘magnificent’ feeling. “No!” hissed Molly, shaking her arm. “Whoever is the farmer here is completely insane!”

Belinda purred in disgrace. Suddenly, footsteps were approaching on the fields. St-ep…st-ep…. step… “Oh no!” whispered Molly. “Someone is coming! We’ve got to go!” Then, as fast as Molly and Belinda could muster, they ran there hearts out towards the end of the field. At the end of the field, daylight was slowly approaching. But, still, they could hear another patch of footsteps approaching behind Molly and Belinda. “Quick! Hurry! Run North!” cried Molly. They ran North, both of them-Molly and the sweet cat, Belinda. But north led to the End of The Field. It was a dead end. The farmer was about to catch them. There was no where left to go.

Chapter Five

The End of The Fields

“We are about to get caught!” panicked Belinda, yowling in distance. Molly turned around. The only thing that surrounded them was paddock gate locks. Slowly, a figure of a farmer with his cowboy hat appeared to them. At first, it was a deep and eerie dark shadow. Molly suddenly got very, very scared that she could faint. Belinda got really concerned and afraid as well. But that cat was loyal-always loyal to Molly and would never leave Molly in danger-unless the cat really had it. The figure shadow was clear. As it stepped towards Molly and Belinda, there was a huge swirl of dust….and soon, the figure disappeared into windswept dust. Belinda and Molly exchanged glances. Was that the farmer? Belinda started to meow very loudly. “Let’s go home. I’m hungry and sleepy. C’mon Molly, lets-'” she mewed. But Molly shook her head. “I know, Belinda,” scorned Molly crisply. “It’s sunrise now and I just know that my mother and father will be worried. But I’m not going to give up! Think about it Belinda-The gold! We got a mystery to solve out! And we’ve got to solve it out now!” Belinda looked feverishly puzzled. “Now?” she asked, in a demanding cute-kitty voice. Despite in Molly’s bad mood she grumbled under her breathe. “Look, Belinda you’ve got to help me solve the mystery of The Dairy Gold Farm itself! We’d be the first ones to find out! We’d be on TV and in the Newspaper! How nice would that be? To earn a bit of gold?” protested Molly. Belinda shook her head. “No! I mean, that would be nice, especially to earn a bit of gold part but I need my rest!” Belinda screeched. Then, in a pile of snow, Belinda disappeared, running out of the farm.

Chapter Six

The Hard Times in School

At school, Molly tried very hard in all the subjects. Winter was almost over; after all and Molly didn’t really go cold all day. She excelled in math and Science, learning the features of Push and Pull, Materials and Leonardo De Vinci while the other classmates envied her. SuperStock_1598R-194730 At lunch and recess, Molly got the grips of being bullied. “What are you up to now, Molly?” Patty, a super-wealthy girl said in a smart-mocking voice at lunch under the Plum Tree. Molly shrugged, knowing that she got an A for her Math test. “Nerd!” another girl called. “Skinny, poor, unwealthy rabbit! You’re clothes are sooooooo old and sashy! Do you live in a cave or something?” laughed Patty. A few other girls laughed. That whole sentence really had hurt Molly. Instead of reclaiming back, she ran all the way to the Girl’s Toilets. Lunch and recess was suddenly really hard.

When Molly walked home from school, she could always find Belinda sitting on her gate’s fence. That cheered her up. And, when she got home sometimes, her mother, Mrs. Stevens would prepare a little treat for her-hot cocoa. And Molly and Belinda have made up a secret, tiny plan. Every day, at dawn they would sneak to The Dairy Gold Farm to investigate. “Okay, so do you have to compass with you?” purred Belinda at four o’clock in the morning. At first, Molly was utterly silent. This, was because that something was worrying her. “Ur, yeah, sure kitty!” said Molly cheerfully. But it was a fake kind of voice and cats knew that straight away. “Molly, wassup?” mewed Belinda gently. Belinda started to raise her paw slowly. Molly cleared her throat. It seemed that every time Molly was worried, concerned or even more worried, Belinda seemed to be there for her. “Belinda, I am worried,” whispered Molly ungratefully. “What if something dangerous happens on the journey tonight? I mean, I am really worried,”

Belinda understood Molly completely; every time Molly was upset or hurt, Belinda could find a way to cheer Molly up. Belinda started rubbing her head against Molly. “Ah, Moll, it’s okay. I’ll be there for you! Together we would and could be strong!” Belinda purred gently. Molly smiled a little smile. Belinda was a loving cat. “Thanks Belinda you really made me feel special. To have you! Now, are we both ready to have our little journey, right?” asked Molly, twirling a bit of her hair. Belinda nodded and meowed a soft meow. “I’m here for you, Moll!” purred Belinda. Soon, the two best buddies went out at dawn, sharp, to The Dairy Gold Farm.

 Chapter 7
The Adventure gets Dramatic…

Molly and Belinda were set out of their homes. It wasn’t snowing like yesterday. The snow was cleared out but it was still cold. “We have got to find out once and for all what is happening at The Dairy Gold Farm…” Molly shuddered. “After all, I am so totally sick about having to lie to my parents each and ever night. Like doing this to my family is totally injustice.” protested Molly. Every time she breathed a word out of her mouth, smoke came flaring out. It was a bit better though. The wind wasn’t so chilly and every bit of air wasn’t so under 0 degrees Celsius. “Okay, here we are,” shivered Molly. Belinda started to shiver, as well. “Ready?” asked Belinda in a kitty cat voice. Molly nodded and smiled and slowly they walked through the paddock gates into the fields. “So…what are we going to do?” asked Belinda. Molly pulled out a few things from her dull-looking shoulder bag. An small, mini-sized chisel, a short, but sharp piece of brown tree stick and some super-glue. “Trust me on this one, Belinda,” whispered Molly quietly. Then, while Belinda waited at the far corner of the field, Molly crept to The End of The Field with her materials. When Molly reached the End of The Field, there was an paddock irony  gate. Slowly, as Molly reached to it, she got out the chisel first and broke the chain on the paddock gate off. Then, when it broke open she got the piece of stick and super glue and stuck them both together. After that, she turned around to look at Belinda. “Okay, let’s go through!” hissed Molly, excited. Belinda pounced towards Molly and they both entered a completely different world.

Chapter 8

In Wonderland of Gold!

Gold…” Molly was muttering. Belinda was gazing over at Molly. “Molly!” hissed Belinda. “Wake up! We are in Wonderland!”

“What…Alice in Wonderland?” asked Molly sarcastically. Belinda rolled her big cat eyes. “No, Molly be serious!” yowled Belinda. “We are in the Gold Farm!” Suddenly, everything just turned upside-down and inside-out. “Oh…really?” asked Molly. She suddenly, stood up, startled and surprised-All around them was only one thing:

Gold!!!

Loads of Gold coins were scattered on the floor. It’s was all but gold. Molly rubbed her eyes. The sun was suddenly-shining. “But…how?  How did we get here? I don’t understand! There’s nothing here but gold! Gold on the floor, gold on the trees, gold everywhere!” screamed Molly in pleasure. Belinda nodded and cupped a piece of gold coin with her paw. Molly started collecting all the gold from the floor and chucking it in her shoulder-bag with pleasure.  As she did, there was more and more gold to dig up and place in the shoulder bag. Belinda helped a bit but it was no use. More and more beguiling gold was digging up near by. After fifteen minutes have come, Molly and Belinda were panting and panting. “I think that is enough gold for us,” Molly breathed. Belinda mewed contently. “Yes. It is! A life-time supply!!! Let’s go back home and show Mrs and Sir. Stevens what we got them! Marvelous!” the cat mewed. Molly grinned. But there was one problem-all the gates were piled up into a pile of gold. Where was the exit?

Chapter Nine

The Exit

Where was the exit? “Where is the exit?” purred Belinda quietly, pawing down a gold pot. Molly suddenly looked terribly worried and concerned. With the heavy shoulder-bag over her humps, there was more Molly could think about. “I don’t know…” said Molly, hesitating over which door is which. The doors were all piled up into a heap of gold. “But we could try…Try to see which door of gold would open and lead our way out of here,” she finished, still with hesitation. Belinda nodded and shivered her furry body. “Yes but I’m getting scared…What if we are trapped in here forever? What if we cannot find our way home?” she mewed in anxiety. Now that comment, made Molly feel terrible. “Then we’d better start acting NOW!” shrieked Molly uneasily. For more than an hour, Belinda and Molly were trying to find the right exit door to home. For an hour there was no hope and nothing found. Molly just started to cry and sob out loud! And Belinda was unfortunately surprised that Molly; a brave girl that started crying!!! Belinda felt sorry for Molly. Suddenly, a light bolt flashed through Belinda! She got an idea!

Chapter 10

The Escape

“Did we make it, did we make it?”puffed Molly-out of breathe. Belinda nodded and meowed out loud in glee. “Of course we did!” purred Belinda. Molly still had the gold! They were back home with a pile of gold in their hands!! “Yippee! How cool! We got goooolllddd!” screamed Molly as she entered her home. Mrs. Stevens ran over to the door. She hugged Molly as hard as she can hug. “I am so glad that you are back,” she said in a huge sigh of relief. They had made it-with a ton of gold!

The End
